Update ezstream playlist 'on the fly'
Hi, I'm using ezstream to stream a list of mp3 files to my icecast2 server which works great. I'm using a m3u playlist file which ezstream reads when it starts and rereads when it loops. The problem is that this playlist is quite long and I would like to be able to inject a song last minute some where in the playlist. I have two options at the moment to do this: - restart ezstream -

using the latest icecast and ices to stream both ogg and mp3
I've gotten a request from another broadcasting partner to set up yet another streaming audio server. They would like to stream in both ogg and mp3 formats from off a single icecast machine. I have been searching through the archives and I have seen this mentioned as being possible, but no real configurations. I would of course place LAME on the box and use that for streaming just as I would

Another relay question...
I currently have 3 mountpoints, 128, 56 and 24. I'm using darkice as the source and I'm relaying to another server running icecast2. I'm assuming that darkice is using lame for transcoding the bit-rates on the fly and sending 128k/s + 56k/s + 24k/s to the relay host... which is using a lot of bandwidth on the source network (which I don't have much to spare). Is there any

Stats Bug?
I use simplecast as the source into my icecast2 server. It has a built in stats program but the problem is that If my icecast server has over 2 mount points the stats stop working and the only way to fix it is to restart the icecast server. Is there anyway to fix this bug myself? Inactive (Error parsing xml document: Invalid at the top level of the document.||||Line: 1||empty result) That

Move listeners problems
Thanks, Karl! I've checked the log files during a move command but I couldn't find anything that looked related to the problems. I've thought of upgrading to 2.3.2 but thought I should ask first if it was something common - saw that someone mailed about the same problems a couple of months ago, if I understood it correctly. /Mathias 2009/11/18 Karl Heyes <karl at xiph.org>:

Live stuff -- voice to music to voice etc. ?
Hi all, I have the Icecast2 server running perfectly and the iceS streamer feeding it either /dev/dsp or a playlist of ogg files, depending on which config I run iceS with (I have three config files: one for live, one for music, and one default (current)). I'm using Slackware w/the 2.4.22 kernel. The problem I'm having is perhaps theoretical: how can I talk a little, play some

Several Questions about Ices2 & icecast2
Hi, i have got a linux debian woody box with icecast2 and ices2 on it. I'm running a 24/7 stream with a huge playlist on my server, but I've got some questions about it: 1. Is it possible, that ices updates Metadata (Artist - Track) to the icecast Server in playlist mode? 2. Is there any possibility of controlling ices2 by a webinterface with functions like nextrack, stop and play,

Update Metadata Failed
Hi everyone, I would like to update metadata by using this request: http://server:port/admin/metadata?mount=/foo.ogg&action=updinfo&song=New+Metadata, but when I send the request, icecast returns an error: "Missing parameter" and metadata doesn't change. registering icecast server in shoutcast directory?
I'm running darkice-0.15 to stream live mp3 encoded audio to icecast2-2.2.0_1,1 on a FreeBSD 4.10 machine and everything is working great. Now that I have my icecast stream server set up, I would like to register it in the shoutcast directory. Is this possible? I see the icecast.xml entries to register with the xiph.org and oddsock.org directory servers, but I can't find any examples

YP listings - how, why, where...
Hi, My icecast2 config file includes <directory> <yp-url>http://www.oddsock.org/cgi-bin/yp-cgi</yp-url> </directory> but when I go to the oddsock YP, I can't find our stream anywhere. Am I doing something wrong, or is something more needed in the config? Thanks in advance. I'd also be grateful if you'd clarify which YP I *should* be using! Does it make any

Different password for every mountpoint
Hi guys , I have a little doubt: It's possible with the last version of icecast2 to set a diffferent password for every mountpoint different from the server's password? Becasue I want to manage the access to the server for every mountpoint and without give the server's password. Another question it's if I do some changes on the icecast.xml configuration , and later restart
