No audio with slackware for live station
Hy, I've just installed the latest release of icecast2 and ices from CVS. I have a linux Slackware 9.0 with the default packages. After install of ices and icecast & relative libraries (with no errors), I've started the icecast server. When starts ices, this is the debug: --- INFO ices-core/main ices started... INFO input-oss/oss_open_module Opened audio device /dev/dsp at 2

ices2 routinely abandons one of its streams
Hi everybody, I'm in charge of an ices2 setup that's broadcasting a local radio station on the Net, and I'm currently under fire because one of our streams has been down twice in two days, forcing me to restart ices2 on each occasion. Our client is understandably unhappy about this. OUR SETUP: I've got ices2 installed on a local machine, broadcasting to an icecast server across

Thanks Karl, I will give it a try. Do I have to install your modified libshout or isn't it required if I am live streaming? Problems with Ices
I am having problems getting Ices to work with ALSA. If I use arecord (arecord -D plughw:0,0 output.wav) I can record the input from my microphone into a file. The playback works perfectly. However, if I use Ices with the same values I hear nothing on the receiving end of my broadcast (although I can connect to it). In order to do a further test, I setup a <savefile> tag in my

ices (CVS) seg faults.
With bitrate management ices segfaults when using a samplerate different from 44100. But works with VBR (quality setting) works no matter what sample rate I choose . problem with latest ices CVS release?
Just downloaded the latest ices from CVS. I'm getting an error that I haven't seen before. I had things working fine just a few days ago. Here's my standard ices.xml file. I tried several different configs using the distribution examples as well and still got errors. Ices2 / Icecast2 / Long connect and no sound
Hallo, I'm trying to run two seperate live audio streams on my Redhat 8 box. I've got two sound devices that linux (begrudgingly) acknoledges. I can get Ices2 to run off of the onboard sound solution but there seems to be alot of interference, however, when I try to use the PCI-card (a C-Media chipset) it takes a lot time to connect from a remote client and there is no sound coming

No sound (ices-2.0.0, RH9)
Hello, I've successfully installed Icecast 2.0.0 and Ices 2.0.0 on a Compaq EvoN600C running Redhat 9. Everything runs quite well (no error loggued by Icecast or Ices), the Ices stream is seen as a source by Icecast and friends are able to listen to my radio (I see them as listeners in Icecast admin)... the problem is that they ear only silence ! Looks like the streaming is OK but Ices could
