[Fwd: Re: Newbie Problem]
This is what I was sorta complaining about - the documentation is lacking. I still don't comprehend how the mountpoints work at all. Can anyone explain to me how they work ? Does the mountpoint point to a local file/folder or is it something else ? The example configurations just confuse matters. Thanks. ----------------------------------- Todd Brill mailto:tbrill@rackforce.com Linux

Newbie Problem
Hi all! I just finished an install of icecast/iceS but I'm having problems. I followed the documentation provided here: http://melmoth.dyndns.org/stream/doc/ to the letter and this is the problem I'm having: Everything seems to function (icecast runs, iceS runs) and it generates messages such as: [root@icecast stream]# bin/ices conf/ices-playlist.xml [2003-06-04 06:43:17] INFO

Live Streaming Problem
Me again.... After getting regular playlist streaming working, I'm not trying to complete the project and implement the live streaming. Unfortunately, due to the sad, lacking documentation for icecast and ices (especially what the xml tags in the configuration files actually DO and how they can be used), I've run into another snag that only you guys can help me out with. Here it goes.

If you don't enter a trailing slash in your player, the player uses it anyway, since the HTTP protocol requires it. Mike --- >8 ---- List archives:

Vorbis streaming
Hi. Can anyone tell me the best way to stream Ogg Vorbis to an Icecast2 or compatible server under Windows? I would need something that doesn't rely heavily on graphics, as I have a blind friend who wishes to be able to do this. Thanks, Lorenzo <p>--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list,

That is set up via the config file and is used for accessing the stream. I do not believe there is ever any static radiofree.ogg file created. It is used for streaming purposes only. Though I could be wrong. I just have never bothered to look. Someone correct me if I am. KJ On Fri, 2003-09-12 at 16:14, Jeff Ousley wrote: > Should I actually have a "radiofree.ogg" file being >

Problems streaming Ogg Vorbis with icecast2+ices
Hello, Perhaps it is a typical question but i've got stuck. I'm using icecast2+ices to stream some ogg vorbis files or voice_in_life (/dev/dsp) over the network/internet. All seems to work fine, for example using: ogg123 http://127.0.0.1:8000/mount works :). And: ogg123 http://my_internet_ip:8000/mount works too from another pc over internet and far away :). Using mplayer works fine

noobie questions
Hello! I'm extremely new at this so don't hurt me. I want to stream CD content from my RedHat 9 box using icecast? What is the best way to do this? I'm getting confused with all the different pieces and configurations. Is there a simple guide that discusses what I want to do? thanks! __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! WinAmp3 & Icecast2 compatibility?
Hello folks I'm having trouble playing ogg streams with WinAmp3. I run Icecast2 & Ices2 (both compiled from CVS about two weeks ago) on a Linux box, the files being streamed were encoded with oggenc (from oggutils1.0, managed 80kbitrate...) The problem is that WinAmp3 won't actually play the .ogg stream. When I give it the URL (http://myserver:8000/mount.ogg) it says

Winamp3 Player Plugin error
The Winamp3 hit the streets yesterday, so i gave the FLAC Winamp3 plugin a shot (dragged cnv_flacpcm.wac to the Wacs/ directory, yadda yadda) and received the following error message when starting Winamp3: --- Studio.exe - Entry point Not Found The procedure entry point_chkesp could not be located in the dynamic link library MSVCRTD.dll. -- It's unable to play .flac files, but still plays

Are there many cards in this category? I'dve thought that all cards would support 44100, it being the standard that it is. Your comments however suggest experience of this problem. solved: building icecast2 on OpenBSD
Icecast2 compiles on OpenBSD 3.2 with the steps outlined by Moritz (thanks for that). I'm running into problems streaming ogg files from the fileserve directory, although serving mp3 files from the same directory happens without a hitch...again, both work fine on a Debian system. I'll try building the ogg and vorbis libraries from source to see if that fixes anything (they are

Winamp3 component update
Okay, I've done a bit of work on flacpcm.cpp and the Winamp3 component workspace. I updated the workspace & projects to use the SDK for build 488 (based on GenericWACTemplate). I also fleshed-out the MediaInfo callbacks, so that standard Vorbis comment fields are reported (author, album, genre, date/year, title, track, description), although id3 tag info takes precedence. So flac

Winamp3 plugin
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I've just downloaded the newest version of Winamp3, which comes with ogg support by default. Up until now, I was using winamp 2.78 with Peter's excelent plugin, and I really loved the tag editor. Sadly, the new plugin doesn't have this great tag editor. I was looking through Peter's website, but the only thing he had there was

icecast2, ogg, mp3, etc
Hi, Just wanted to clarify, can icecast2 not read OR broadcast any mp3, or can it just not broadcast mp3 (but still play from a playlist)? I know the quality would be dropped if it had to reencode them though. And what's up with that POS Winamp3, it doesn't even play gg streams?!? I use xmms, but we have winamp3 on a demo computer, it just sits and keeps prebuffering. I need something
