m3u - file definition
Hello is there any documentation on the .m3u file definition ? I want to define a .m3u playlist where I have to define the start and end point of the single mp3 file. The .m3u files is supposed to handle multiple tracks from one file. Just with put a tab, start time (seconds), tab, end time (seconds) after the path to mark where it starts and ends in the file. #First Track

very low speed local network browsing from win xp clients
Hi Everyone there! We have a very annoying problem since several months when browsing the local network (workgroup) from win xp clients (from win98 clients it's almost OK). The machines in the workgroup appearing very slooow (about 15-20 sec), and this value doesn't change even in the 2nd or 3rd browse. We have 1 linux (debian 2.4.21 pre 3) pc, running the samba (2.2312) server, about 15

Icecast / liveice quandry
I've been running classic icecast + liveice for some time now (several years) without problems. A couple days ago, the station manager (NPR affiliate) came to me and asked if we could 'inject' a static file into the stream. Basically what he wants is for the client to first receive a static file (requesting donations of course) and then on to the live stream (*not* intermittently).

syntax for playlist
I should be more specific . What I meant to ask was - is it necessary for the directory that icecast streams or serves files from to "everyone" or the "world" have at least read permissions. I do plan to experiment with the permisions but I was just asking to see if any one had already tried this. I like to lock down my system as much as possible. Thanks for the help!

upgrade to 4.8.3 authentication not work without specifying domain
I updated a centos 7 without changing the samba configuration. Before authentication worked even without having to specify the domain to the logon. After the update, on the other hand, it is mandatory to specify the domain. user password: not work. domain \ user password work. I have 5000 windows (xp / 7/10) clients not in domain. Client workgroups are varied. Users are not expert at all and

.conf for 2nd streem
I'm pretty sure it was in the default ices.conf, but I guess I deleted it. How do I setup a 2nd stream? The first plays at 24k, I want same audio for a box on the local lan, so bandwidth is not an issue; so either don't decode/reencode or re-encode at 300+K, or whatever the highest is. upgrade to 4.8.3 authentication not work without specifying domain
How about setting: map untrusted to domain = yes The default changed here. But it would still help if we could see the smb.conf as the big difference with 4.8 is that winbind needs to run now. This might also do something like this. Regards Christian Am 11.01.19 um 10:46 schrieb L.P.H. van Belle via samba: > I gave you the most simple option. > > And the difference is. >

mount points & multiples streams II
I have done some experimenting but if am incorrect I would like someone to correct me. I am trying to run multiple streams so what I have created additional directories such as mrock24, mRock64, and mRock128 in the '/etc/ices' directory . In these directories I have placed new conf files and playlist files respectively streaming 24, 64, and 128. These directories are also the name of the

Re-2: streaming MP3s?
I'm using icecast-2.0-alpha-2 and ices-2.0-Beta2. When I put the .mp3 file in my webroot and start laying it via winamp/location/<filename>.mp3 it works fine, just when I try using the playlist via ices I get a 404. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: [icecast] streaming MP3s? Implementing HTTPS with WEBrick?
All, I would like to test some secure pages that I''m developing in my WEBrick-based development environment. I''ve done some research and it appears that I need to create a new command that will start a HTTPS based WEBrick server. Is this correct? Also, it appears that the https.rb module is not included with the WEBrick bundled in Rails. So, I will need to go get that
