Shoutcast Compatibility
Hi all, I have been Shoutcasting for six years now but am looking at using
an Icecast server because of its active and ongoing development.
I have broadcasters who use Shoutcast-compatible tools so the Shoutcast
compatibility is important to me. I downloaded the latest version of Icecast
and used the supplied configuration file for Shoutcast compatibility as a
template.
I can in fact connect

Q. What rate has SoundExchange proposed in the arbitration?
A. While SoundExchange continues to negotiate deals tailored to individual
needs, it has asked an arbitration panel to set the industry rate for
webcasters as follows:
* Webcasters (including AM/FM webcasters) may choose to pay either $0.004
(four-tenths of one cent) per performance (e.g., if 10 people listen to

network of volunteer rubists for humanitarian projects
Hi,
Do you know the existence of networks of volunteers in the ruby on rails
community willing to be involved or being consulted sometime for
humanitarian projects? (I saw a website about that a long time ago , but
I don''t remember its name)
Thanks!

OT: WAS: * found in Iraq!! NOW: Asterisk bus iness sightings
So I go into a new Apple store on Sat to buy some stuff for my Mini, and I
notice some Snom 360's on the sales counter. Venturing a question, I ask,
are they using Asterisk? Guys says yes. Cool! I said: What kind of box are
you using. He points to a Mini sitting on the counter! 2 X cool! He's using
a SIP-FX0 converter.

[semi-OT]: will icecast eventually be able to stream video ?
hello guys !
i wonder whether the new ogg theora video codec will be added to icecast2...
we've been using icecast2 earlier this year for a webcast of our linux
audio developers conference
(http://www.linuxdj.com/audio/lad/eventszkm2003.php3), and since next
year's event will be somewhat bigger, we would love to have some sort of

Beginning R help?
Hi all,
I'm currently working through the "Beginner's Guide to R" (Zurr et al.) and
I'm wondering about the first exercise in chapter 3:
I imported the data from BirdFluCases.txt and executed the 'names' and 'str'
functions as follows:
Bird = read.table(file='C:\\rbook\\BirdFluCases2.txt', header=TRUE)

Suggestion for a new server for E1 line
Hi All,
I'm trying to identify a new server as a replacement for what our
customer actually has (DELL PowerEdge 860).
The server will mount the Digium board TE121, we already have, with echo
cancel onboard. I need to know if someone could suggest a new server
that's compatible with this board. With "compatible" I mean that's not
having any problem like IRQ sharing, IRQ miss

SPA-962 & Asterisk
Good Day,
I have been tasked with fixing the time on our asterisk server. I am having
a hard time finding documentation to tell my what asterisk uses to get its
time information to push to phones (or a better question, where does the
SPA-962 get its time information)?
Basically, I can go under the settings of the phone and change the offset to
set the correct hour, but it is still about 4

R CMD check tells me 'no visible binding for globalvariable'

I think what people are also thinking about is that the policy for
publishing a package on CRAN is that it have to pass R CMD check with

Getting rid of these notes would be very hard in the survival package.
