Playlist Problem (Newbie)
I just downloaded and installed the newest version of icecast. I have been using shout to stream my mp3's into icecast, and it worked ok except it kept stopping mid song and I'd have to hit the play button again on xmms to get it to work properly, but then a few minutes later it does the same thing. I downloaded ices to use instead of shout and now it won't load the playlist..?

mounting smbfs from a Solaris 7 box
Has any Sun Solaris samba admin ever attempted to mount to a WindowsNT server? Unfortunately after several attempts and some elaborate syntax I can not get this to work. I do not see that Sun supports smbfs as Linux does. If anyone has any ideas or tricks please drop me a line. [Re: icecast2 ??]
Behold, Adon Irani <adon@YorkU.CA> hath decreed: > > the icecast2 developers be guilt-tripped into repeating icecast's > performance ? > _ is it not enough that OGG can have a streaming server that supports it ? Perhaps, if that is the only requirement to have a fully-functional streamer. Unfortunately, I believe this is not sufficient for the user base. So, if the

icecast1 documentation
Hi guys, Can anyone point me to some good icecast1 documentation? I looked on the icecast.org website, but the /docs link only list the icecast2 documentation now and the whole site is void of icecast1 documentation... Using icecast1 instead of icecast2 because I need on-demand-streaming... Thanks, Kelv

Re [ogg]
I guess as a mercy plee for help I'll mention why I need to have the static ogg files play as the mp3 static files play with icecast1. I'm the founder of the LPBN and I've recently made Richard Stallman's files available as downloads (it is a work that is still in process). Stallman has requested I make them available as streams as well as downloads. So is there anybody out

Some metadata missing, relaying icecast1 stream with icecast2
I'm relaying an icecast1 mp3 stream with icecast2. This works fine, and the song title is displayed correctly no matter if I use <relay-shoutcast-metadata>1</> or not on the relay. But, the stream name and other metadata provided by ices0 on the icecast1 server is not displayed in the listening client. Icecast1 source: [Id: 1] [Sock: 11] [Time of connect: 09/Aug/2004:10:01:24]

Multiple auth method problem
Hi, I'm having issues getting the multiple authentication methods of dovecot 1.0-test65 to work correctly on NetBSD. I am combining a MySQL database of virtual host accounts with the system password database of local machine accounts. Both work correctly when enabled on their own, but when enabled together only the one listed first in the "auth default" section of dovecot.conf

libshout1-based mp3 streaming to icecast2
According to what I've read on this mailing list, it should be possible to stream MP3 data to icecast2 using ices-0.2.3, which I assume also should be the case for any other streaming client based on libshout1. So I decided to test this out to see if we really could dispense with icecast1 altogether on the server I help administer. My results were not promising, to say the least. I wiped out

Missing headers in Icecast2
Hi everybody, Assorgia and me, we have worked on the Flash client for Icecast2. We got successful results with: -Windows (Netscape, Mozilla, CompuServe, or Opera) -Macintosh and Linux(Netscape, Internet Explorer for Macintosh, Safari, AOL, Opera, or CompuServe) For Windows (Internet Explorer or AOL) some headers sent by Icecast2 are missing. These headers are sent by Icecast1 but NOT Icecast2

icecast2, libshout2, Shout.pm FreeBSD
Hi all, Has anyone successfully managed to get icecast2 libshout2 and Shout.pm built under freebsd? o far I've been able to build all of them except for Shout.pm. I would like to migrate from icecast1 however I can't do so until I can get everything built. Here is the error I'm having trying to build Shout.pm from the FreeBSD ports tree. # make cc -c -I/usr/local/include -O -pipe
