OGG/Vorbis DirectShow
Hi! On http://www.vorbis.com/software.psp?pid=2 ( Other Vorbis software for windows ) there is a link called "Ogg Vorbis DirectShow Filters" pointing to http://sf.net/projects/mediaxw That project is dead ! But there is another vorbis DS project at http://tobias.everwicked.com/oggds.htm , which is actively developed. How about updating the vorbis.com page to point to this DS-vorbis

Ogg support in Windows Media Player 9 and WMP Media Library
Greetings all, I've got some questions and news (I think) regarding the Ogg DirectShow filter, and Ogg support in Windows Media Player and the WMP Media Library. The OggDS that's in CVS -- is there any reason it's only at the 0.9.9.3 level and not the 0.9.9.5 level that's on Tobias's webpage? After downloading the 0.995 version and digging through the Windows Media

ACM codec
Hello everyone, I was just browsing through some video capturing websites/forums and saw some people complain that there was no lossless codec available to encode audio in AVI files. I thought that FLAC would have one but it doesn't seem to be the case. As it's a popular demand (now that hard drives are inexpensive, people can record hours of video/audio without any loss and then

Ogg Vorbis Playback with Windows Media Player
Where do I go and what do I download to enable Ogg Vorbis Playback with Windows Media Player? I found something on sourceforge.net but at the top it says Current (Test and development files; these can damage your whole DirectShow system and probably requires a complete Windows reinstallation) o I don't want to do that, I want to make sure I pick the right thing first ;)

FLAC Plug-in for Windows Media Player?
I was wondering if there is a FLAC plugin for Windows Media Player? Just from doing web-searches, it doesn't look like there is, at least as far as I can tell. So, if there isn't a plug-in for WMP, well, why isn't there? And is there anyone working on one? I'm a programmer, though I've never done any WMP programming. But, I would think it wouldn't be too hard to do a

OGGDS\OggSDK missing from svn
Hello, I am trying to get hold of the sources for the ogg vorbis DirectShow filter. I have checked out trunk\oggds, but the solution refers to projects under OggSDK, viz: "OggSDK\ogg\win32\ogg_dynamic.vcproj" "OggSDK\vorbis\win32\vorbis_dynamic.vcproj" "OggSDK\vorbis\win32\vorbisenc_dynamic.vcproj" ....which do not appear to be in subversion. OggVDS Where?
Where can I download the Ogg Vorbis DirectShow Filter? I've heard, that there is a newer version than 0.9.9.5. There's a bug in either OggMux or Tobias' Filter which causes text to be erased after special (unicode?) characters in the chapter list. Winamp vorbis crash
Hi! ( I am sending this also to vorbis@xiph.org, because Peters homepage at http://www.blorp.com/~peter/ is ... dead, and I am not sure what his email address is ) I have a ( more than probably corrupt ) ogg/vorbis file that makes winamp lock up. If I drag&drop the file on winamp, the position slider will start flashing at the leftmost position and winamp does not respond to any user input

metadata update in the stream
This has come up earlier, but I don't remember a solution. How do I update the metadata of the stream 'on the fly'? I'm thinking of having a live stream (through darkice), with the title, author, etc. metadata changed every once in a while to reflect the actual program. How would I do that? Should I insert such data into the mp3 / ogg voribs data somehow by calling some

question on downsampling
Hi, Maybe a bit off topic for this list, bt anyway. I have received several feature requests for DarkIce to support downsampling of the audio input before passing it to lame or ogg vorbis. For example the audio read from the soundcard would be 44.1kHz, and lame would get it at 22.05kHz. I figure two ways of doing this: 1. For lame, one can specify the input and the desired mp3 sampling rate,

Speex, what container?
But is there any sound player for windows that plays speex in an ogg container? One more question, besides the source code found in the speex site (like speexenc.c) can you tell me where to find source code developed in C++ (using object oriented programing) that makes it easier to write ogg files with speex content? I just tried my first production icecast 2 streaming. When I try and connect ogg123 to the stream, I get the following: $ ogg123 -v http://yp.tilos.hu:9000/tilos96 HTTP Headers: ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ and then the last line unlimited number of times. The licensing issue is still a mess, although they hope to make it at least coherent "real soon now". Use at your own risk. BTW, there is no MP4. The equivalent audio codec is the Dolby AAC.
