Icecast winamp oddcast mountpoint problem?
Hi there!
I'm new to the list and I'm experiencing somekind of problem. I have installed icecast 1.3.12 as a OpenBSD 3.2 port. I use winamp (on win2000) for encoding with muchFX and 4 oddcast DSP plugins for different streams. Streams are mounted in /low /medium /high /vh mount points. From icecast logfiles it seems that everything is working ok. When I try to connect with a client

Metadata
ok - I'm now starting a new bitstream on each song change, but still no-go.
Only on the very first reconnect does the title streaming show correct.
The metadata information however NEVER displays correctly in the stats.xml -
even though the comment headers seem to be fine - so I suspect I need to use
another method?
btw - Metdata inside OddCast DSP seems to work fine...

Simpal Question
Hi,
have you the full url to that plug in as I cannot find it there sorry.
Andrew
<p>Hi:
I would suggest using winamp with the oddcast DSP plugin from oddsock.org.
You can get it to stream live input by using the advanced controls mode.
Geoff.

noobie questions
Hi:
Since icecast2 is still heading to an initial release, there's no official
guide for this stuff, but there is a bit of stuff out there.
First, lets clarify what you want to do. When you say "CD content", I
assume you mean audio CD's.
To provide a stream requires two parts - a source or streamer, and a
server. The source is equivalent to a radio studio, the server is

Two sources on one mountpoint?
Hi:
Since all the audio sources will need to end up in the same data stream,
you'll need something that will decode the streams at some central point,
re-encode the mix and send it on. I guess that, in theory, it'd be
possible to have more than one vorbis stream in a single ogg bitstream that
was composited at the server, but I don't know all the technical issues,
it's not

Yes, didn't work. But i have found the problem with
gdb: the internal hostname of icecast is "localhost"
or 127.0.0.1 respectively. But when i access my server
i access a different ip address. Do you have an idea
which setting of my configuration file i have to
change?

icecast 1.3 or 2 ??? (plus YP stuff)
The mp3 streaming is actually pretty good in icecast2, even the metadata
enhancements..I've done quite a bit of testing with it, and it's passed all
my tests..although my tests were not completely thorough, and additional
testing should be done on laggy networks and with large number of
users...it at least passes the "good network and small number of users
tests"...

Problem with streaming some mp3s (but not all)
So there is no way around having to re-encode them
all?

Oddcast not working with WinAmp 5.01
Does Oddcast have any Windows98 dependancies that I might be missing after
doing a reformat?
Can't think of what else might be wrong... =(

Winamp v5.22 / oddcast / aac+
Ok, it's not as bad as I thought. With some investigation and
discussion with a "Major Dude" in the Winamp forums, it appears to be a
bug in Winamp v5.22 with streams that end with the mountpoint extension
.aac. I changed the mountpoint to end with .aacp and now it works fine.
Regards,
Ross.

Something else, Greg. Are you aware of any 3G / 2.5G (EDGE) clients for
mobile phones that support AAC+ streaming? Be it java or symbian based.
Thanks
Alex

Oddcast not working with WinAmp 5.01
I recently reformatted & reinstalled Windows98. Oddly, only now after a
fresh re-install has Oddcast been behaving badly with WinAmp 5.01.
It shows up in the DSP catagory as a mirror of the previous plugin, plus
"[dsp_oddcast_v2.dll]". I know Oddcast isn't configurable by the WinAmp
Configure Plugin button, but it shouldn't give this message when I try:
