ices can't logon to server
Do you mean ices 0.2.3? If so, I'm still getting the same error.
On December 12, 2002 18:34, msmith@labyrinth.net.au wrote: > Duke <list_usr@spacebox.net> said: > > I'm certain I've got everything configured correctly, however, I keep > > getting the following message when trying to run ices: > > ices 0.x doesn't use the same protocol as

ices can't logon to server
Where can I get ice2? (Seems ices2 doesn't actually exist.) is it useable? >Fromwhat I found on google, the cvs web listing says the code hasn't been touched in 22 months, and that it's mostly incomplete. Should I just use icescast and ices?

On December 12, 2002 22:05, msmith@labyrinth.net.au wrote: > Duke <list_usr@spacebox.net> said: > > Do

Icecast2 issues continue
Hi: Well, up until about a week ago, we had our stream up and running on 3 seperate mountpoints and it was rock solid. then we started hitting problems with disconnects and the like. I recompiled everything this morning and set it running again. But one mount has died already. We have 3 streams running. the first is the ogg files as they were encoded (egoplay.ogg). the second is a

However, even though I did a 'make install' it's still launching ices 2.0 when I type 'ices' from the command line. So, how do I specify 0.2.3? Can I have both ices 2.0

file only storing with ices 2 ?
Hi ! my question is how to totally switch off the Ices2 logging into the Icecast server ? I wan't to use ices only to save archives (24h/d), without any streaming, but when I try start Ices, see: [2005-01-19 17:27:05] EROR stream/ices_instance_stream Failed initial connect to localhost:8000 (Couldn't connect: Connection refused) and Ices clears buffers etc. and shuts itself down :-(

Streamer / scheduler - play file at predifined time?
thanks, this works but its almost impossible to make all my programs to add up to an hour exactly so at some stage I would need to kill the a song half way through just before the news at the top of the hour. Any ideas on how to do this ??/ R
On Wed, 9 Oct 2002 09:00:39+1000(EST) Geoff Shang<gshang@uq.net.au> wrote: > Hi: > > Regarding refreshing the playlist. IIRC,

IceCast and ICES
I?ve successfully implemented IceCast on a Raspberry Pi and can access the stream ONLY if I use an ffmpeg statement to start the stream. Unfortunately, the stream is choppy and the sound quality is poor. I?ve tried using ICES, but I don?t get any sound. Terminal command that works: ffmpeg -ac 2 -f alsa -i hw:0,0 -acodec mp3 -ab 48k -ac 2 -content_type audio/mpeg -f mp3 icecast://source:password

Ices 0.x is still developed. So is ices2. They're independent codebases with substantially different capabilities and users. Yes, in retrospect naming it ices2 was a poor

ices 2.0.1 release
This is to announce version 2.0.1 of ices. It is a small update to 2.0.0 and is compatible to existing configurations. The most user-visible part of this update is in the ALSA input driver, which some people have reported as being a problem in some cases. You can download the tar files from http://downloads.xiph.org/releases/ices/ Summary of changes since 2.0.0 . update ALSA input . add

ices stdinpcm
I have problems with the stdinpcm module in ices2. The player fills its buffer and doen't play anything and fill the buffer again and this repeats (with winamp). when I download the stream with wget I can play it from hard disk... is this a common problem with ices2 or do only I experience this behaviour? the oss module works. --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/

Streaming MP3's from Asterisk with Ices
I am trying to stream an mp3 file from an Asterisk meetme conference. Ices and Icecast are streaming mp3 files on their own. I have looked at the info on the wiki and the various readme files. It appears you need to use Ices2 to work with the confirguration file that Asterisk gives you, but it calls Ices. Ices2 appears to only stream ogg files and i would like to stream an mp3 file. Being
