Thanks for all the help. I didn't expect a reply so fast. I downloaded the most recent version of Oddsock's port but it always says that it is unable to start the server. --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'icecast-request@xiph.org' containing only the

How to complie Icecast2 on Win32
Ok. Now it will run. But when i try to play back my stream(either ogg/vorbis or mp3) it sounds like the chipmunks. Could it be that I'm broadcasting at a sample rate of 22050 in mono? This shouldn't make a difference as the source is also 22050 samplerate and mono(its the line-in plugin for winamp). I'm using Winamp 2.81 with the is the Oddcast DSP for Winamp 2.xx plugin to

How to complie Icecast2 on Win32
if you are reading from line in, then use 44100/Stereo, Oddcast (pre oddcastv2) has issues with converting 22/mono to 22/mono....basically, all is good if you have 44kHz input (I think mono or stereo works)... oddsock At 06:55 PM 11/25/2002 -0600, you wrote: >Ok. mp3 streaming with Icecast2 on win32
Hi Just a quickie - Is it currently possible to stream both ogg and mp3 from (different mountpoints on) the same icecast2 server using the win32 binaries? (oddsock!) How about other builds? Thanks Leo --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to

Icecast2 Win32: any way to minimize on start or run as a service?
Is there any way to run Icecast2 Win32 at Windows startup and at least one of the following: minimized, in the system tray, or as an NT/2000 service? I looked through the docs but couldn't find anything. Thanks, Ethan -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ethan Kiczek Information Technology Manager Weatherhead Center for International Affairs Email:

Thanks for everything. I just have one complaint: Oddcast won't save my broadcasts. But I can get around that by having a second Winamp session open and setting the vorbis decoder to save streams and then tuning into my own stream. --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message

Guide on icecast2-yellowpages - Version 0.1
Hi everybody, ince some people on this list have asked for further details on how to implement your own scripts for running a yellowpages-directory with icecast2 I've written a small guide on it (please see the textfile attached to this email). At the moment, surely, this is just an initial release. But hopefully it can serve as a basis for a documentation project on the icecast2-

subscription services on icecast2
I just got a query from a user regarding icecast2 and thought I'd throw it out to the mailing list. Is it possible to set up some sort of subscription to an icecast2 audio feed? A student at the University of Cincinnati wants to create a subscription service to an indie radio station and have users sign up, and then get a login to the stream. They would have an unique username and password.

icecast2 password bug?
Hello people, I'm trying the Icecast2 for win32 (release 02-26-2003). Currently my (mp3/ogg) source data for the server is a winamp running the oddcast plugin. I can't connect to icecast2 server using odd_cast plugin. Actually it connects ok, but just after winamp start to play, it is disconnected from server. The server log say: attempted to login with invalid or missing password

Icecast2 YP extention
I think we definetly need to get YP authentication into Icecast2 soon, but I'd like to propose an extension to the draft now... with action=add: banner=URL This allows the Icecast2 server to supply a URL for a graphical banner to represent the radio stream instead of just it's name. On the server end it could fetch this URL, scale/convert it as needed, and prehaps use it with the name

icecast2, ogg, mp3, etc
Hi, Just wanted to clarify, can icecast2 not read OR broadcast any mp3, or can it just not broadcast mp3 (but still play from a playlist)? I know the quality would be dropped if it had to reencode them though. And what's up with that POS Winamp3, it doesn't even play gg streams?!? I use xmms, but we have winamp3 on a demo computer, it just sits and keeps prebuffering. I need something

icecast2 ogg vorbis client request headers
Well the code itself is what i took from tom peppers sc proxy script and incorperated our own auth system for icecast2 i know i got it close with ogg and it seems to be when i tweak the $str.=fread($sp,4096); bit amount, i get different results, 4096 works fine for mp3 on icecast2 and shoutcast, but im assuimg maybe there is more or less to read from the ogg headers?? if so what would be the
