About Icecast2 and Ices
Hi...
I am actualy useing Icecast 1.3.12 with Liveice, and i want to start use
Icecast2, but i have some questions...
a) Is Icecast2 stable ? more than Icecast 1.3.12 ?
b) I need transmit direct by LINE-IN in my Sound Card. Ices support
that? If no, what audio source client can i use ?
c) Can Ices mix Line-in and microphone ?
Thanks...

Funky password mount point error for liveice and ic ecast - PLZ HL P!
OH MAN THANK YOU!!! I have been pulling my hair trying to get this $hit to
work for weeks now. What other DSPs do you recommend instead of LiveIce?
Either that or when do you expect the patch to be released?
Thank you so much!!!

icecast + liveice won't play nicely
I have gotten icecast and live ice both up and
running, but I cannot get them to play nicely
together. I have the following in my configs:
icecast:

liveice:

PORT 8001
PASSWORD test
#ICY_LOGIN
X_AUDIOCAST_LOGIN

but when I run both of them using:
./icecast
./liveice

Funky password mount point error for liveice and ic ecast - PLZ HL P!
Pete - Thanks for the hack, I've gone in an adjusted the necessary
lines(Even though my C is REALLY rusty, cut and paste to the rescue), I
re-compiled the source, so hopefully things will work once I get home to
test. You mentioned that I shouldnt use this for a Public Production
server, is there any other security measures I can take to override this
exploit? I had planned on running it

I think MuSe can fit your needs.

LiveIce/IceCast Error
Greetings everyone....
When I run liveice, I get an "Error:sending data to remote server
message" from liveice, and then it hangs (I actually have to open
another console window to kill the process).
The IceCast server respond with the following:
Kicking source 1 [127.0.0.1] [Access Denied (tcp wrappers (source
connection))] [encoder], connected for 1 seconds, 0 bytes transfered.

How to configure passdb backend with LDAP
hello
I want to know if I can use Samba 4.1.6-ubuntu to authenticate against an LDAP (v.2.4). I need that users can access to a shared folder only if samba find the account in the LDAP. The parameter passdb backend does not work to me.
Regard,

darkice problems (was Re: Propping up liveice)
I tried darkice 0.9 with icecast 1.3.12 and lame 3.91. I specified a 64k
stream and similar options to what works for us with liveice.
Streaming worked successfully, and I applaud darkice for being fairly
simple to build and configure. But the stream sounded like mud. It was
worse than our 16k mono RealAudio stream. I re-examined my config, I
rebuilt everything with gcc 2.96, then with

Note that liveice-xmms more than likely does not work with icecast 2.0.
You can of course opt to use it with icecast 1.3.12, but the developers no
longer provide any support for it whatsoever, and many users have also made
the move to icecast
