Hi again.
With your help I managed to get the configure run through
- i installed or updated the various librarys. it is unsure though
if the errors seen are not in the end fatal.
when i now run make it tells me this:

automake problem
Hi again.
Which version of automake is used for the sources of icecast (& co)?
Which versions of automake will be able to work with the files on cvs?
I'd also like to ask you if some of you got to build the icecast 2 sources correctly
with redhat 7.2, 7.3 or 8.0.
I am getting the following error doing an ./autogen.sh:
I am going to run ./configure with no arguments - if you wish

I have tried to compile icecast 2 by following
the instructions on http://www.xiph.org/archives/icecast/2870.html
After I upgrated my cvs version i was able to check out
the source just as in the above mentioned inscrution,
but when doing a ./autogen.sh it gave me the following errors:
I am going to run ./configure with no arguments - if you wish
to pass any to it, please specify them

RH 9 and R 1.7.0 Beta April 2 Latest
Hi all,
I am now up and running on RH 9. Went pretty smoothly (about 1 hour for
the clean install, though still doing some "tweaking".) There are
already about 40 update RPMS including a new kernel via RHN, which I
have installed.
Noticeable improvements since 8.0, especially with the new version of
XFree86, which yields sharper fonts that are now (with TTF fonts
installed)

What FileSystems for large stores and very very large stores?
I was learning about the different FS exists.
I was working on systems that ReiserFS was the star but since there is
no longer support from the creator there are other consolidations to be
done.
I want to ask about couple FS options.
EXT4 which is amazing for one node but for more it's another story.
I have heard about GFS2 and GlusterFS and read the docs and official
materials from RH on

building icecast2 on OpenBSD
Is there anyone who has built icecast2 successfully for OpenBSD? I built it
from source with no problem on Linux, but on my OBSD system the configure bombs
while checking for a function in libxslt...

Compiling Icecast2 on RedHat9 or maybe another Linux
Btw if it burped on libxslt, you probably want to make sure you have libxml
as well
Just follow the same routine you did with libxslt
wget
ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/redhat/9/en/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS/libxml-1.8.17-8.i386.rpm
wget

This is highly unlikely, since libxslt

Multiple Ogg Streams
>ices2 will encode/reencode/relay to more than one server.
I searched for documentation about ices2 and found two,
one of them http://quasi.ksl.com/icecast/docs/Unofficial%20Icecast%20HOWTO.pdf
where link to the other was incuded (which i found before though).
All what I saw was that it only supports encoding streams from
soundcard input or playlist, but not a stream (from Oddcast DSP).

Multilevel model ("lme") question
Dear list,
I'm trying to fit a multilevel (mixed-effects) model using the lme function
(package nlme) in R 2.4.0. As a mixed-effects newbie I'm neither sure about
the modeling nor the correct R syntax.
My data is structured as follows: For each subject, a quantity Y is measured
at a number (>= 2) of time points. Moreover, at time point 0 ("baseline"), a
quantity X is
