AW: Icecast1: "Client din't data fast enough"
Hello Geoff, Hello Hagen,
I have also this problem, I use shoutcast with shout. on a Sun SPARCServer 5
with 170 Mhz, and I don't know what I can do. Making higher buffering at the
server-side ?!? but where ?
Using a better Maschine (Sun Ultra60 with 2x450 UltraSPARCII Processor) its
the same problem: the stream is broken with "Client din't data fast enough"
in Logfile. I hear

icecast1 documentation
Hi guys,
Can anyone point me to some good icecast1 documentation? I looked on the
icecast.org website, but the /docs link only list the icecast2
documentation now and the whole site is void of icecast1 documentation...
Using icecast1 instead of icecast2 because I need on-demand-streaming...
Thanks,
Kelv

Some metadata missing, relaying icecast1 stream with icecast2
I'm relaying an icecast1 mp3 stream with icecast2. This works fine,
and the song title is displayed correctly no matter if I use
<relay-shoutcast-metadata>1</> or not on the relay.
But, the stream name and other metadata provided by ices0 on the
icecast1 server is not displayed in the listening client.

SMB-server from Win2k -> Red Hat Linux 7.2 - Samba 2.2.1a seen in Network Neighbourhood but not browsable
Hi everyone,
I am new to the list and new to Linux as well as to Samba. I've read quite a
few howtos, man-pages and other docs on samba now. I configured my own
SMB-server with smbd and nmbd. Of course I generated a smb.conf file and my
server is accessible and running on the Linux mashine. I can connect with
smbclient to the Linux-mashine and to the win2k-mashine (hostname and service

icecast1 documentation
Hi Geoff,
I'm a bit confused...
After reading the docs, I was under the impression that icecast2 does
not do on demand relaying?
I did a google search, found this (well, it's a year ago)
http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/icecast/2004-February/006555.html
Also, in the relaying section of the icecast documentation:

There was no

WINS question
Hello
Have a trouble.
I have mashine with two interfaces.
Samba running at both with the same name of computer.
In wins-servers wins.dat i see next string:
"GRAND#20" 1044171787 192.168.1.1 192.168.2.1 46R
It's ok.
But for ALL mashines in any interfaces with any IP (192.168.1.X or 192.168.2.X)
returned first IP in list:

icecast1 type stats logs in icecast2 ?
Hi:
You can get the info you want through the icecast2 admin interface. To use
this, do the following:
1. Edit the following fields of the icecast.xml file:
admin-user - set to the username to log into the admin system with.
admin-password - The password to use with the username above.
admin-root - the directory which will contain the XSL files for the admin
interface.
2. Now copy

Re: SMB-server from Win2k -> RH 7.2 - Samba 2.2.1a seen in Network Neighbourhood but
Hi there,
first of all I want to thank everybody who gave me good advise so far ;-).
Now it's the first time I can give advise, and I'm quite glad that I can
start giving insted of only taking now :-) !
Hi Petr,
Yes, I have solved my general problems as follows:
First of all you have to check your firewall settings, because that was the
major problem on my system. On RH 7.2 the

icecast1 and compilation on RH9
I know that icecast-1.3.12 is deprecated and for a good reason. I wanted
to test it out on my Red Hat 9 box today. I found that it would not
compile. Has anyone else seen this?
What I wanted to try was testing streaming MP3 audio and relaying
encoded icecast audio from one machine to another again. Is there an
easy way to accomplish relaying from one machine to another using
icecast2.
I have

icecast1 type stats logs in icecast2 ?
Here is a php script that parses out the stats.xml file from the admin of
the icecast2 server.
It currently only parses the page out to variables and still needs a bit of
work.
anyways here is the php source files

icecast1 type stats logs in icecast2 ?
Hey All.
I have recently upgraded my streaming radio station to icecast2 type
streaming. I, however miss the stats logs in icecast 1. These logs
would list the number of listeners, and more importantly their ip
addresses. I parsed this onto a nice looking web page, so local users
in my LAN could know who was listening to the radio station.
I guess icecast2 has some built in web serving

security passwd-encryption & netbios-names (wins)-RH 7.2 samba 221a (standard installation from rpm)
Hey geeks,
I have been reading several faqs and howtos now and haven't come very far
with what I really wanted to accomplish:
I have installed samba from the RH 7.2 distro rpm. I have set it up so I can
access my windows shares on the linux mashine. I can "ping athlon" (which is
the netbios-name for the win2k mashine) I can "ping linux" (which is
obviously my

Hello!
I trying to setup Domain Controller with Samba,
but I have some trouble.
As I understood, I ought to create "Trust Account" for
every mashine, and if mashine name is "vasya" then
account should be "vasya$"
but FreeBSD is not allowed to create accounts with "$" characters,
what should I do ?
Thanks!

'net rcp shudown' with mashine account (-n -P) possible???
Hello samba-list,
I'm able to shutdown remote mashines using:
supzli02pdc:~ # net rpc shutdown -S <target-pc> -U Administrator%<passwd> -r -t 1 --comment=Abmelden
I wounder if this is also possible with an mashine account auth (from the
PDC)? I couldn't get it to work:
supzli02pdc:~ # net -n supzli02pdc -P rpc shutdown -r -t 1 -S <target-pc> --comment=Abmelden

when i try to join a winxp pro client to my samba domain i get an access

Big trouble after serverupgrade - Help needed!
Hi folks,
I installed a new samba-PDC-server (dual athlon, raid,...) with Redhat
9++ and samba 2.2.8a from rawhide. I copied all (?) configfiles
(/etc/samba/*) from my old server an adjusted some shares.
The old server (RH 8, Samba 2.2.6, single PIII) was working for a couple
of month without a probelm; I could create mashineaccounts on the fly
from windows 2K and XP Pro, profiles and
