Ices2 and Jack
>From what I have read on some mailing lists, there is a jack module for ices2
that works quite well. Why isn't this information on the ices2 web page or
documentation? Ices is useless to me without this, yet so awesome with it. I
saw requests from people for you to do this over a month ago. What's the
problem?
Thanks,
Daniel

problems streaming ogg with ices2 and icecast2
Hi there,
I'm trying to stream audio from my audio card using ices2/icecast2. I've
been following the unofficial HOWTO at
http://www.6809.org.uk/media/ices2-howto.shtml. So, I've downloaded and
installed libshout2, ices2 and icecast2.
Everything starts up OK and I can get stats by pointing my browser at the
admin page:
<?xml version="1.0" ?>

cvs changes
I changed the libshout2 and thread module apis. This broke everything.
If you are tracking CVS, make sure to update your libshout2 and the
thread module. Ices2 and Icecast2 already uses these new changes, which
were implemented as part of general cleanup and getting Solaris builds
out of clean tarballs.
If anyone is having build issues now, on linux or solaris, please let me
know.
jack.

libshout2, ices0-3 and ices2 on Win32. Announce
Hi Abhijit
I can't answer your questions but I would be very interested in a fully
working binary of Ices2 for Win32 once it's ready. Thanks for the
effort.
Best regards,
Ross Levis

libshout2, ices0-3 and ices2 on Win32. Announce
Hello..
I have libshout2, ices0-3 and ices2 compiling on Win32
with
MSVC++ 6.0.
However, I don't know where to upload the code and if
someone is kind enuff to point out the
location(s)/procedure
that would be great. I will put a readme in the distro
for compiling procedures.
ices2 compiles but doesn't run correctly (yet). There
are
some issues related to parsing the ices-playlist.xml

Icecast 2 questions.
Hi all,
I just built icecast 2 from cvs. I tried to compile ices (also from
cvs) and got:
tream.c: In function `ices_instance_stream':
stream.c:164: warning: passing arg 1 of `shout_strerror' makes pointer
from integer without a cast
stream.c:164: too few arguments to function `shout_strerror'

FYI, libshout2 and ices2 are also in the xiph CVS, under libshout and ices,
respectively. All of these also have dependancies. These are:

What do I need to do?
Thanks!

version confusion
Hello.
I'm one of the maintainer of ices packages found at http://plf.zarb.org. I'm
currently trying to rebuild the whole ice/icecast/libshout trilogy. However,
i'm running into some troubles.

Bizarre (and irritating) ices2 error
I get this error every time I try to start ices:
ices: relocation error: ices: undefined symbol: resolver_initialize
I'm running a Celeron with 64MB of RAM which up until last moth, ran ices with
absolutely no complaint.
Here are the steps I've taken to resolve this problem:
Full update from debian/unstable
-no effect
Full reinstall of all dependencies using CVS checkouts
-ices fails

Debian packages: icecast2, libshout, ices2
Hello everyone,
I've been maintaining Debian packages (for sid) of icecast2, libshout,
and ices2 for several months now; my production servers run Debian, and
these packages make using icecast on them even more easily manageable.
They've been quite solid and reliable in all of the situations I've
encountered, and I've had nothing but positive reports from a couple of
testers.

IceS 2 - scripted playlist
Yes. It runs a script which returns a file to stream.

ices2 and vorbis RC3
Hi:
I'm guessing we now need a new version of ices2 to work with vorbis RC3, at
least if we want to re-encode. Is this correct?
Geoff.

Simple source on Debian
Hi there.
Thanks for the tip about Ices2. Do you know if it's possible to make
it work with mp3 files? I only ask because there are several people
who stream using my server, and they use mp3. I'm trying to create
fallback streams, but in order for that to work, I'd have to get them
to switch to ogg or find a way to make Ices work with mp3.
Thanks
