Hi folks, sorry for the posting but I haven't received a message from this list in almost a week and was wondering if my account was not working correctly. -- Colin Faber (303) 859-1491 fpsn.net, Inc. * Black holes are where God divided by zero. *

No sound on any stream.
I have 2 icecast servers and neither will play music, 1 gentoo, the other ubuntu when connect to a mount and trying to broadcast via mixxx using both mp3 or ogg. Both will establish a stream feed but appears to have no sound. One of them won't even stream a ices2 mounted song either (same symptom, connect but no actual play occurs). Error logs are clean too, firewall is turned off on both

general questions
Okay, just to satisfy my mind, can someone give me a rundown on what the other things do (other than the streaming portion) admin root web root by setting these I'm not sure what to put in there or how to access them... and how to use the xsl files? I still cannot find anything on it. Sorry if it all sounds stupid, it's just been rather difficult to find what I am looking for Thanks,

Config and other areas of struggle
Confused me for ages.. until one day! Which out of the listed machines (on the router) is the one you are needing the port forwarded to? Forward that machine to the port you require, I would have used a lower port number 8010 or another unused port. configuration & error help
Hi everybody, just a new face showing up looking for a little help configuring IceCast. Just installed the software with a few other programs in an attempt to start off my own internet radio station. Using SimpleCast to take the line-in and stream it to IceCast, which in-turn does the obvious and streams it to the internet. I'm looking at just creating a station of just 5 max users (for

No sound on any stream.
I figured out half the issue. Icecast appears to be transmitting on port 8000 just fine. The more I dig, the more I realize icecast is fine. Browser vlc seems to be broke. Direct connect via VLC standalone to -> http://66.228.49.182:8000/66.228.49.182.ogg.m3u works perfect. http://tinypic.com/r/2yl1qhc/6 I break there. Thank you! icecast2, libshout2, Shout.pm FreeBSD
Hi all, Has anyone successfully managed to get icecast2 libshout2 and Shout.pm built under freebsd? o far I've been able to build all of them except for Shout.pm. I would like to migrate from icecast1 however I can't do so until I can get everything built. Here is the error I'm having trying to build Shout.pm from the FreeBSD ports tree. # make cc -c -I/usr/local/include -O -pipe

The OP seems to be still confused. SAM Broadcaster supports sending streams directly to Icecast servers, so Icecast does not need to be put in Shoutcast compatibility mode. He doesn't need to use different port numbers, as mentioned a few times. The mount points do not need to be defined in the configuration file unless you want different passwords or other unique settings per stream, as

Problem with fallback on 2.31 on Windows XP
If this isn't supported, then I apologize for the disruption, I'll just tell my customer / client / friend it's time to seriously rethink what they're trying to do. If support is possible, here's the problem: I took a running icecast.xml file from a configuration that works. It has live, backup, and listener (called /broadband) mount points. A continuously running stream

streaming single mp3 files
I am new to this list, so this question is already answered. I thougth that if <webroot> and <fileserve> is set in icecast.xml i could stream mp3 files by http-protocol like http://occ1.net:8003/modules/media/gallery/music/alternativerock/mab/emphasizedlove.mp3. But it didnt work. I have setup icecast and ices to stream *.m3u and that worked. So my setup should be correct.

I am using Winamp, Icecast2 Server, and Edcast. I believe I have set these up properly so that I can set up and broadcast an internet radio station. These are the links I used to help me: https://www.pcworld.com/article/190705/start_your_own_internet_radio_station_for_free.html https://www.fastserv.com/kb/article/edcast_winamp_-_easy_steps_to_streaming_to_icecast_or_shoutcast/

static file streaming
Hi, I have installed the Icecast2 on my Ubuntu Linux and I was not able to figure out how I could stream static mp3 files. Can anybody help me? What should I do to do this? I put the mp3 file in the webroot and I tried to retrieve it with the " http://host:port/try.mp3" URL but I could only download it (as a whole) but not as a streamed media. Do I have to convert the mp3 to another
