"Static files (http support)
There is support in icecast for streaming files directory from the server
to the client. This is usually handled much more nicely by a real http
server, but if you don't want to go through the hassle of setting up apache
or roxen or whatever, then this might be what you're looking for.

Support for SURTD5000XLI
Hi,
I have a new APC Smart-UPS RT 5000VA 230V (SURTD5000XLI) which works
great with the built in network management card and the snmp-ups driver
using the apcc mib. The output.current variable is however limited to
only an integer and thus gives quite bad resolution. So I decided to
hook up the UPS with the serial cable instead, but I failed to find a
suitable driver.
The apcsmart driver does

Active Directory user authentication with a Samba File server???
I currently have a file/print server running on a W2K machine that crashes almost daily and would like to start using Samba as a file server, instead.
Our 5 domain controllers are all setup using native mode so as to not share active directory with any NT servers.

In icecast-1.3.12 the conf file has Static file directory. I'm upgrading

Simple streamer help
Hi --
I am trying to add limited streaming capability to an existing mp3 setup
I'm running for internal use at my house.
I'm using the "mp3sb" package with a php-based web front-end to pipe music
to my stereo; now I want to extend that so I can use the same web interface
to stream to computers in the house. I don't want to run shout or another

Turn off replication
Hi Jose,
Thanks for providing the volume info. You have 2 subvolumes. Data is
replicated within the bricks of that subvolumes.
First one consisting of Node A's brick1 & Node B's brick1 and the second
one consisting of Node A's brick2 and Node B's brick2.
You don't have the same data on all the 4 bricks. Data are distributed
between these two subvolumes.

Self heal problem
Hi,
I have a glusterfs volume replicated on three nodes. I am planing to use
the volume as storage for vMware ESXi machines using NFS. The reason for
using tree nodes is to be able to configure Quorum and avoid
split-brains. However, during my initial testing when intentionally and
gracefully restart the node "ned", a split-brain/self-heal error
occurred.

Turn off replication
Hi,
Removing data to speed up from rebalance is not something that is recommended.
Rebalance can be stopped but if started again it will start from the beginning
(will have to check and skip the files already moved).
Rebalance will take a while, better to let it run. It doesn't have any
down side.
Unless you touch the backend the data on gluster volume will be
available for usage

Turn off replication
We have a Gluster setup with 2 nodes (distributed replication) and we would like to switch it to the distributed mode. I know the data is duplicated between those nodes, what is the proper way of switching it to a distributed, we would like to double or gain the storage space on our gluster storage node. what happens with the data, do i need to erase one of the nodes?

Announcing rsync release 2.5.6
I am sorry if this is a bother...
I am looking for the PGP/GPG public key that rsync was signed with. I
can't find it at samba.org or the rsync web site. Sorry if I am missing
something obvious, but would you please point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Jose,
Why are all the bricks visible in volume info if the pre-validation
for add-brick failed? I suspect that the remove brick wasn't done
properly.
You can provide the cmd_history.log to verify this. Better to get the
other log messages.
Also I need to know what are the bricks that were actually removed,
the command used and its output.

R on AIX?
Hi,
Last year our systems group tried to install R on an IBM
p5-570 machine (16 nodes, 256 GB shared RAM), running AIX 5.3. They
ran into all sorts of difficulties and finally gave up.
I am interested in trying again (and working with an IBM support
group if necessary), but before embarking on this odyssey I was
wondering if anyone on this list has ever successfully run
R on a similar

Creating cluster replica on 2 nodes 2 bricks each.
Hello
We are trying to setup Gluster for our project/scratch storage HPC machine using a replicated mode with 2 nodes, 2 bricks each (14tb each).
Our goal is to be able to have a replicated system between node 1 and 2 (A bricks) and add an additional 2 bricks (B bricks) from the 2 nodes. so we can have a total of 28tb replicated mode.
Node 1 [ (Brick A) (Brick B) ]

Hi All
We were able to get all 4 bricks are distributed , we can see the right amount of space. but we have been rebalancing since 4 days ago for 16Tb. and still only 8tb. is there a way to speed up. there is also data we can remove from it to speed it up, but what is the best procedures removing data , is it from the Gluster main export point or going on each brick and remove it . I am a bit confused
I have read the shutdown.txt in the docs directory. It says that after
upsmon calls the shutdown command init takes over. This I understand
clearly. However, step 8.
8. init then runs your shutdown script. This checks for the
POWERDOWNFLAG, finds it, and tells the UPS driver(s) to power off
the load.
Since init is shuting down the system, why is the POWERDOWNFLAG needed?
Why do I

Testing UPS
I have all working and the test shutdown using 'upsmon -c fsd' worked.
Also I get appropriate messages on console when I pull power and restore.
But I want to *see* it work by removing power, but I don't want to wait.
How can I tell UPS to issue needed message after a minute on battery?
