Yes, didn't work. But i have found the problem with
gdb: the internal hostname of icecast is "localhost"
or 127.0.0.1 respectively. But when i access my server
i access a different ip address. Do you have an idea
which setting of my configuration file i have to
change?

Icecast winamp oddcast mountpoint problem?
Hi there!
I'm new to the list and I'm experiencing somekind of problem. I have installed icecast 1.3.12 as a OpenBSD 3.2 port. I use winamp (on win2000) for encoding with muchFX and 4 oddcast DSP plugins for different streams. Streams are mounted in /low /medium /high /vh mount points. From icecast logfiles it seems that everything is working ok. When I try to connect with a client

Problem with streaming some mp3s (but not all)
Hi!
I would really appreciate if someone could try to help
me out with this... i've been struggling with it for
quite a while now. :(
Anyway, I was trying to use ices to broadcast mp3s
with icecast2 (a recent cvs snapshot of all 3
components from brendan's site). I have it working
fine for some of my mp3s (encoded with lame -b 32) but
with the other mp3s which are actually the ones that

noobie questions
That is set up via the config file and is used for accessing the stream.
I do not believe there is ever any static radiofree.ogg file created. It
is used for streaming purposes only. Though I could be wrong. I just
have never bothered to look. Someone correct me if I am.

synchronization issues...
Now that my encoder doesn't broadcast static anymore... I've run into another
problem. Here's what I'm trying to do (tell me if I'm crazy, because there's
probably a better way to do this...)
My roommate have two separate computers (and two speaker systems) and would
like to listen to the same stuff in the room. So, I figure, set up an icecast
server, tune our media

charity ) what I really need to know is when we do a broadcast with icecast what software do we need on the live events computer

Multiple streams for different quality settings ?
Hi,
I would like to send 3 streams to my server, three times exactly the
same audio but with different quality setting to get a low, medium and
high quality stream.
I've got icecast2 setup on a debian server and I'm streaming ogg with
oddcast from winamp, everything's working just fine.
Is there another win32 package to get this done ? We are going to do
live audio in the end so we

Re-5: Newbie-Question
Hi!
The icecast-server seems to work though I didn't manage to play music:
This is my config file for the intended playlist:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<ices>
<background>0</background> <!-- run in background? (unimplemented) -->
<logpath>/tmp</logpath> <!-- where logs, etc go. -->

Hi,
have you the full url to that plug in as I cannot find it there sorry.
Andrew
<p>Hi:
I would suggest using winamp with the oddcast DSP plugin from oddsock.org.
You can get it to stream live input by using the advanced controls mode.
Geoff.

dare to compare -- live streams: ogg/WMA
hello,
I like your point here .. it's difficult to make such a comparision,
since yacast.fr choosed to stream like that. Why did they choose to
stream like that? That's beyond me, since Radio France has a budjet of
millions.
The point of this comparision was to show why is Radio France doing and
paying for something like this? Me, with cheap computers which were
had no more value (well,

[Fwd: Re: Newbie Problem]
Mike,
Even though it plays the test .ogg file I have fine and plays other ShoutCast
streams fine ?
Sorry for the stupid questions but I'm a Linux sysadmin who's never done
streaming audio like this before.
Thanks for the input.

creating live mp3-stream
hi!
Currently I'm using icecast1 and darkice to send a live-stream ... now I
updateted icecast2 ... but is there a way to create 2 different MP3 streams
(with 2 different qualities) using a streaming client? ices2 would be great but
it only supports ogg :-( As real radiostation we have to use MP3 because most
auf the windows playeres still don't support ogg ... :-((

[lists] Re: Re: How to complie Icecast2 on Win32
Thanks for everything. I just have one complaint: Oddcast won't save
my broadcasts. But I can get around that by having a second Winamp
session open and setting the vorbis decoder to save streams and then
tuning into my own stream.
