Icecast 2: planned stuff.
Hi there.
I had a look at how icecast 2 works after having been pleased by how
icecast 1 worked.
I succesfully made it work on a debian woody (for those interested at
how i did it http://melmoth.dyndns.org/stream/ It's in french yet).
I was however disapointed a bit by not finding the admin console I used
to find in icecast 1.
So, several questions: is this admin console planned to be

Mixing audio
I have received your answer regarding the intention of developing audio mix algorithm based on Speex (a while ago...).
You've mentioned two different scenarios.
VOIP applications that can manage with high bit-rates can truly mix the audio just once at
the receiving client. Today most sound cards can mix the decoded streams automatically (no need for mix software).
The real problem is

Rails "pasteboard"?
Hello all, I''m looking to setup a simple network "pasteboard" for files
within my organization, to circumvent people trying to email 50 meg files
and me being unwilling to open up our mail server for massive email
transfers.
I''ve seen the pasteboard idea elsewhere where you can go and paste code or
log files or whatever, and then they just fall off an hour or a day

Can't install CentOS4
Hi everyone,
My email server is running CentOS 3 and I can't upgrade it to CentOS 4
using the CD's. At first I thought it was the old Megaraid card (that's
no longer supported), so I replaced that with a new card. I've tried
ISO's from CentOS 4, 4.1 and now 4.2 which I've tested and booted in
other machines. Just not this one.
I've never had a problem like this

Helix into Icecast2 loopback
Hello.
I've made some progress on the issue. I found a tool called TrPlayer which
is a text mode front end for real player - initially developed for the use
of the visually impaired. The theory is that I can use this and pipe the
live stream into vsound which then in turn is passed into ices or another
source client. Trouble is, I'm having all sorts of trouble compiling
Trplayer on the

Helix into Icecast2 loopback
Hello all,
I am a little new to Linux so I would appreciate some assistance with this
issue.
I have been running a Helix server streaming RealAudio encoded content live
and on-demand for a while. For the live stream, I use the Real equivalent to
Ices which on the Helix platform is called SLTA. All the content on the
server is encoded as RealAudio.
I have also successfully setup an Icecast2

Bug Report. Replay-gain and ogg.
I just bought an I Audio mobile device (Btw, these thigns are the
coolest players on the face of the earth.. might want to check em out).
It plays ogg vorbis files rather nicely. My whole music library is
sitting in flac format. When I encoded my flac files (the majority a
year ago) I used replay gain to save the album and track information if
the flac file.
Unfortunately, the I audio doesnt like

Does WINS need to be populated or configured?
Hi All,
Now that I have winbind running and
wins support = yes
in my smb.conf, am I missing something?
Like setting up WINS, configuring it,
populating it, etc.?
Can someone point me to documentation on
what to do (administrate) WINS?
Many thanks,

Finding out who's on, from a Win2k Perl Script
Hi list members.
There probably isn't an answer for this, but just in case there is...
I have samba running as a PDC (Samba 2.2.8a, RH7.3, Win2k clients). On
one of the Win2k Clients (one I use for admin work), I have apache2 and
Perl. One of my CGI-BIN scripts uses perl to do some web pages (nothing
large scale, private use mainly with a ODBC database on the workstation.
My question is, if

Srvtools causes smbldap_open: cannot access LDAP when not root
I am using Samba 3.0.10-1 on Fedora Core 3. Most everything seems to be
working as I expect it to except when I try to use the srvtools package to
administrate the users and groups in the domain.
I want to check and see whether maybe I am just misunderstanding usage as
opposed to their being a configuration problem.
If I log into my workstation as Administrator, either the local account or

ldap sub groups and Samba
Hi,
I have a RHEL 5.6 server with samba3x-3.5.4-0.70 instaled, it acts as a PDC, it has OpenLDAP in the same server. Everything works fine, so far, the windows xp and windows 7 machines are inside the domain, and users from the ldap can log from their machines. The thing is that i am trying to create groups, so some users can administrate others users, but not all the users.
I know that samba

Wich web browser on CentOS6 ?
Hello
I have more and more troubles using firefox in professional environment with
CentOS6. The latest version is 45.7.0 But I can't use it anymore to access some
old server hardware (IDRAC7 of DELL C6100) because of
"/SSL_ERROR_WEAK_SERVER_CERT_KEY/". I had to install an old Firefox32 version
to administrate these servers.
Today I upgrade the firmware of 2 DELL switch and now
