No encoder
Hi ...
I've installed and configured icecast following the readme and manual
but can't connect from my windows client, I get this message in the logs:

To test it, I've placed demo.mp3 in /usr/local/icecast/static/ and try

If I leave 'ADMIN' out it let's me in with the password. So maybe my

Impossible to connect to ANY yp server
Greetings
I'm having problems announcing my stream on any yp server, using
Icecast v1.3.12 compiled with the optimization support.. I have
tried every directory server I could find, but I still get the same
result.
When I start icecast with an yp server available, I get this:

Liveice startup error message..
Hello,
I have been trying to use liveice with icecast to stream live audio. I am
getting an error message that I can't seem to find an answer to. FIrst of
all, I start Icecast (Version 2.2.0) and it seems to come up fine. Then I
start liveice, and I get the following error message:

Icecast / liveice quandry
i know with icecast2/ices , karl heyes has some example config files for
mixing live/static content ( if i recall correctly ) .
however, what i had done in the past is add the static file to the .pls
prior to the live mount . if you generate the .pls files on demand , this
would work . ALSO , i'm quite sure that both icecast1/2 support
intro/outtro files , etc .. this may achieve the same

Icecast / liveice quandry
I've been running classic icecast + liveice for some time now (several years)
without problems. A couple days ago, the station manager (NPR affiliate) came
to me and asked if we could 'inject' a static file into the stream. Basically
what he wants is for the client to first receive a static file (requesting
donations of course) and then on to the live stream (*not* intermittently).

liveice mount points
It sounds like both liveice procs are trying to open the sound card? and
the second one fails? I think you can double check that NO_SOUNDCARD is
set in the second liveice. If you are just streaming a playlist (no
soundcard) with the second liveice you should probably use Ices
instead. I've had one broadcasts going with liveice and a second with Ices
before. Also done 2 using 2 Ices. I never

icecast2 mountpoints maximum
A small update from my side.. i have updated both icecast and libshout to
the nightly snapshot versions of icecast.org. Also, in the configfile i have
raised the threadpool to 500 and all timeouts to 3000.
This did help a bit. Right now i can get it up to 1020 inputstreams, however
then it just stops accepting new connections.
Is there a theoretical maximum to the number of mountpoints icecast

getting Started w/icecast & liveice
Ok, I just about have this working - now I am able to get both my liveice
stream to connect properly to icecast, but I no longer get a "no encoder"
error on connecting to icecast w/winamp! However, nothing plays and I get a
timeout pretty soon.
How can I check and make sure that liveice is streaming my static files?
here's the cfg - do I have the correct settings for streaming a

Stuttering stream after 1 minute
After one minute of connection the stream from our icecast 1.3.10 server
(debian package 1.3.10-2) starts stuttering. And after some stuttering the
client is disconnected by the server. The usual client is a windows winamp.
The icecast logs shows that the the client is not receiving data fast
enough. A small part out the logs is shown below. That the data is not
received fast enough is rediculous

icecast2 mountpoints maximum
We are using icecast as stream-relay for a true narrowcast solution
we've developed. The idea behind the system is that each individual
client gets it's own mountpoint.
Basically we have an application that creates streams. Its written in
c++ and uses libshout to handle connecting to icecast.
Everything works fine, as long as we keep the number of mountpoints
below 347. As soon as we

liveice Question
Works just fine - though it might not be documented (seems like this info
was dropped from the sample liveice.cfg file in the later distributions).
Basically, at the end of liveice.cfg add the line:
ENCODER_STREAM_SET 1
then define the values that would be different on the 2nd stream, ie:
NAME Scott's 24kb/s stream
SERVER xxxx.yyy.com
PORT 80xx
PASSWORD (if different than 128k)
BITRATE

Ive had one stream running, non stop @ 128k for over 60 hours without a
reset, restart, or a reload of anything.. Is this par for the course?
And about that keepalive script.. Would you (or someone) be willing to
send me a sample so as I change whats needed and implement it?
Thanks a bunch!

Getting Listed
Hello,
I'm struggling with getting my stream at the various directory services out there. Here are my experiences with icecast up to and including 1.3.9, which I installed today. I've had the same problems with previous versions, dating back to when I begain using icecast last July. My icecast.conf contains the following lines:
icydir yp.shoutcast.com
directory yp.icecast.org

fallen too far behind, removing
Morning all, I set up IceCast several years ago on centos 6. seemed
easy, now I am trying to install it on Centos 7.
For the life of me, I cant do it, I have read several STEP by steps on
how to configure, but I am pounding my head against the wall, I am a
Windows IT guy, thus I am looking for a step by step detail way of doing
it. All the examples I find, fail at some point or another. Any

Hi,
For some reason I see this in my logs:
[2016-08-02 12:43:02] INFO source/send_to_listener Client 169 (127.0.0.1)

The more interesting is that it is the ffmpeg, that is listening to the
source stream being removed.
My setup is:
Stream generator:
DEVA TX, streaming 44,1 khz PCM (pcm16le) stream to icecast2 server
Transcoding:
