Confusion over case sensitivity
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hello,
I have a little confusion over one of Samba's configuration options and
I'd like a little clarification over what it does and also what it's
intended to do, if those two are different!
In my smb.conf I have 'case sensitive = yes', along with a couple of the
other options that refer to case. The smb.conf man page says:

Hiya,
There is another plugin which supports mounpoins AFAIK.
http://www.oddsock.org/tools/dsp_oddcast/
Try it.

Is there a way to direct icecast to associate a stream from a
particular source to a designated mount point?
I've got two different streams I'm encoding that I'd like to make
available on the same server. Currently, I have one going to /icy_0
and the other to /icy_1. That's okay for the moment, but if either
the server or the two encoders reboot, the streams might reconnect in

icecast 1.3.12 streaming big static files, offset
hello
i am running an icecast setup since a little while now and i am
very convinced of the quality of this product. still i have 2 wishes
or problems which seem almost unsolvable to me:
1: i don't know how i can convince icecast to make an offset
position by streaming big static files. i.e. streaming
big.mp3 not from start but one hour later:
60s*60mins*16000

Currently I have it set this way:

which forces open an mp3 player.

ices2 (which is a seperate program, written by different people) does
vorbis streaming. It also does live streaming. Feel free to ask me
for any features that are missing.

on-demand source as default mountpoint
Hi icecasters,
Is there a way to attach a static file to a source client without using the
/file subdirectory? What I'm trying to do is have a static file broadcasted
on-demand via http://fooblah:8000/, but I can't uses ices (I think) since that
just throws the file to the server without any sense of timing. If I use ices,
listeners could tune in during the middle of the static file,

my question is.. where is the default stream
name kept? i have rummaged through icecast.conf

OK, am I missing something ??
Hi all,
Didn't get any replies to my previous query, so I thought I'd try again.
Since I last emailed out, my station has appeared on yp.icecast.org, so I
really don't know what was going on there....
This time, however, I'm hot on the trail of a generally crappy output
stream from icecast/streamcast/ices.
It stutters; it halts on track changes; it causes the little red

Using LDA with postfix and virtual users
Hi list,
I have 7 virtual users in a sql database. I don't want any systemusers
or local delivery using postfix.
On the postfix side everything works fine as long as I use the 'local'
delivery agent. But since I want to use dovecot's sieve functionality I
set local_transport to dovecot. From now on Postfix seems to ignore
local_* settings like local_recipient_maps.
Here is my

problem with rsyncing web site
I'm currently running a web site on Windows 2000 (ISS5), and I need
to mirror the content to a Unix server running Apache.
I've installed Cygwin, and I have rsync working to copy content over
ssh. However, content is being copied with permissions being supplied
for the user, but being zeroed out for group and world.
In other words, most files get copied like:

OFF TOPIC: Core router upgrade for a voip colocation center
Hello, hope this isn't too far offtopic here but being a troller for a long
time here I've realized there is a great knowledge base so I wanted to at
least see if i could get some tips. I help run a small colocation company
in California and I am in the middle of recommending a new 'core router'
platform for our network. We offer mainly colo and dedicated servers, and

One-way audio with H.323 --> SIP call
Good day,
I have a puzzling issue that people in the IRC channel recommended I
post to the list so here goes :)
I am trying to call a SIP softphone from an H.323 hardphone. The
hardphone is connected to a Definity Prologix R12 PBX with a MedPro card
and a CLAN. The Avaya is setup to send any call to extension 1609 down
an H.323 trunk group that is destined for the Asterisk server. When I
