This does sound like a grounding problem. My (limited) understanding is that when you have 2 audio components plugged in to different outlets, there can be a voltage differential between the ground on the 2 devices, which will create an electrical flow between the 2 components, which is the source of the hum. I have had this problem before and solved with a ground loop isolator, (from Radio Shack)

R <- POO
De hecho, dos de los principios de diseño de R son:
1) Todo lo que existe es un objeto.
2) Todo lo que sucede es una llamada a una función.

git question about disk space
If one has a free github account and clones the llvm-project repo into their
account, what is the impact on their disk quota? The llvm-project is huge but
if one only changes a few files, does all the rest count against their quota or
is some copy-on-write mechanism sharing the disk space amongst all cloners?
thanks, brian

Segmentation Fault when using dig, nslookup, host...
I have setup Centos-3.1 on a Dell Optiplex GX1 this week. It has to
replace an old Compaq Deskpro I used as a firewall/router running the no
longer supported RedHat 7.1. I have the NAT firewall up and running, and
it works OK.
However, there is one thing bugging me. I cannot use any client software
that queries a nameserver. I tried to use "dig", "host" and

ANNOUNCE: External node attributes
Hi all,
This just keeps coming up, again and again, so I decided to take a
few hours and break everyone''s configuration.
Oh, wait, just kidding. :)
Really, I''ve completely rewritten external node support. Here''s the
changelog entry:
Only ONE node source can be used -- you can use LDAP, code, or
an external node program, but not more than one.

Multiple regression in R - unstandardised coefficients are a different sign to standardised coefficients, is this correct?
Hello,
I have a statistical problem that I am using R for, but I am not making
sense of the results. I am trying to use multiple regression to explore
which variables (weather conditions) have the greater effect on a local
atmospheric variable. The data is taken from a database that has 20391 data
points (Z1).
A simplified version of the data I'm looking at is given below, but I have

[LLVMdev] Recompiling llvm+clang how-to?
Hello list
I have questions about compiling Clang+llvm.
I compile as the link below instructs.
http://clang.llvm.org/get_started.html
I do on Ubuntu 12.04.
`time make -j5` prints for about 13 minutes to compile a brand new
version of Clang+llvm.
And after this I edit some C++ code(clang/tools/driver/driver.cpp) and
compiles using the very same makefile which was used above sentence.
But this

[LLVMdev] Recompiling llvm+clang how-to?
Hello Mr. Ciao and people on our list
I tried this last night and now in the morning I captured the problem status.
Could you please advise me on this problem?
- I downloaded brand new clang+llvm and compiled it as instructed from
the url below.
- I added some code to tools/clang/tools/driver/driver.cpp
