Downsampling mp3 on-demand streams
Hello, We're streaming radio programs at both 128kbsp and 32kbps, but only archiving the 128kbps stream to save storage space. I'd like to give users a similar choice of bitrates when they request an archived stream (served through icecast's /file/ functionality). Is there a way to change the bitrate on the fly, or do I really need to save archive both bitrates? Thanks for the

De hecho, dos de los principios de diseño de R son: 1) Todo lo que existe es un objeto. 2) Todo lo que sucede es una llamada a una función. Un saludo, Carlos J. Re: DarkIce 0.6 and Lame 3.89: underlying sink error
Samuel, I had the same problem. I think it's because the port in darkice does not match the port icecast or shoutcast is listening on. I thought it was 8000 but it was actually 8001. Check that. Asterisk stops working for no apparent reason :-(
Hi All... I have been having a recurring problem with * for several weeks now. I am using it with two ATA186 devices configured for SIP. There is a USB zaptel device plugged in but to the PC but no phone is plugged into it. I have two X100P cards, each with a phone line. About once each day, * will just decide to stop answering calls from the phone lines or from an extension. The *

Manager API quit working for no apparent reason
I have some agi scripts that use the manager API. They just quit working this afternoon. It seems that asterisk quit responding on port 5038. I can't even telnet to that port. (connection refused) I had been making some changes to extension.conf but that's all. I even went so far as to reboot the machine but the problem persists. Any ideas?? Malcolm Bader

Access Denied, Roaming Profile -- no apparent reason...
Samba 3.0.28a-0.fc8 & Windows XP. When logging on to machine 'A' one of my users gets an "Access Denied" message for a particular cookie file -- 'statse'. When logging on to another machine ('B'), there is no problem. I have tried, when logged in as administrator (mapped to root on the server), to read the cookie file on both machines. Machine 'A'

LH3 SMP hangs for no apparent reason
Hi, I have been having a fairly serious problem with an HP Netserver LH3 that seems to hang for no apparent reason. This happens when the machine is under load and it also happens when it is simply idle. When this "hang" occurs I can no longer SSH to the box. I can ping it and port scan it and it appears to be "alive" but it won't load web pages or process mail

Rsync 2.5.5 hangs for no apparent reason
Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this email. I'm using rsync to make a copy of my Netbackup Catalogs to an offsite server for DRP. I have narrowed the problem down to a few sub-directories that contains 16 directories each and in each directory there are about 37 files. None of the files are larger than 300MB. In fact, most of them are around 1K-5MB. The problem is, rsync

Dovecot SLOW in imaptest without any apparent reason
Hello, I'm migrating a mail server from a centos 5 cluster architecture to a centos 6 cluster architecture. The new cluster involves faster machines then the old cluster, and a virtual machine. I use dovecot-2.0.9-5.el6.x86_64, while the old cluster uses dovecot-2.0.1-1_118.el5. Tha mail server uses mysql for the users database, and a local ldap for authentication. The storage is also much

[Flac-users] CD archiving
I have been following flac development for some time now, but with the release of 1.0.4 I thought I would finally start the task of encoding my entire cd collection into flac format. After looking through the list archives and the webpage I still have a few unanswered questions. 1. What is the best method tagging method to use? Josh mentioned that id3v1 was preferred over id3v2 since it

Ubuntu, Exim, deliver: permissions/setgid problem
Hello all, I have a little problem. I'm trying to set up Dovecot deliver (1.0 beta 3) as the LDA for Exim4 on Ubuntu 6.06 with MBOX, and I'm running into permissions problems. Exim typically wants to run pipes as the user to whom the mail is being delivered (as per the "check_local_user"). deliver needs access to the auth socket and needs to be able to create files in /var/mail.
