icecast.conf.
If I leave 'ADMIN' out it let's me in with the password. So maybe my
icecast.conf is wrong[?]
[attached] BTW, this is not on a public machine, just my private "radio
station" run on my lan.

[PATCH] Configurable privileges and chroot jail
Hi,
This patch (against the current CVS tree) is intended to add secure
configuration to icecast 'out of the box'. It adds two configuration
directives, 'icecast_user' and 'chroot_dir'. These are intended to be
used together to reduce the privileges icecast runs under to the
minimum necessary. When this is enabled and run as root icecast will
enter the specified chroot

The reason for asking is that everything else had "hackme" as a pw
and "prettyplease" raised a question because we thought it may be
a part of something else (ie. ices) and curious

Tweaking Questions.
It looks like we have things running and just have a few
questions:
1- What MIME type and extentsion do we need to
open a player through Apache, currently what happens
is that it attempts to download the entire folder
containing the mp3's instead of opening up the
player (this happens at http://www.xxx.com:8000).
2- How can you create a playlist? Currently it
just plays the mp3's and

doveadm auth and the "nologin" extra field
Hello,
Still busy with details...
Considering, as in my previous example, a password_query returning '!' or NULL for the "nologin" column, depending on an account's status (suspended or not).
Let's consider a suspended user "some.user".
In the case of a successful authentication, one has:
sh-3.2# doveadm auth test some.user goodpassword; echo $?

NEWBIE QUESTION - ERROR [BAD PASSWORD]
I have installed the icecast server on my Debian Linux 2.2. I modified the
distributed icecast.conf (as far as thought was necessary), and I set up the
shout.conf...
Both server and shout are started from root and are set up to localhost.
I could start the server, but when I started shout, it did find the server,
but it was blocked with the message "BAD PASSWORD[encoder]" even if the

suid bit files + securing FreeBSD
Hello everybody,
I'm a newbie in this list, so I don't know if it's the appropriate place
for my question. Anyway, I'd be happy to find out the solution.
Please, has anyone simple answer for:
I'm looking for an exact list of files, which:
1. MUST have...
2. HAVE FROM BSD INSTALLATION...
3. DO NOT NEED...
4. NEVER MAY...
...the suid-bit set.
Of course, it's no problem to

[Q] Web Admin Setting
Hi everybody. I set up a streaming server with Icecast 1.3.11, and
everything has been ok until now, except for one thing: when I try to
set a variable from the Icecast Web Interface (/admin=set page) I get
the next message:
"You must supply a variable to be changed"
The link that Icecast generates is something like this:

How to use SQL without a model?
I want to do a SQL query, but I haven''t created a model. For example,
instead of Car.find(:all) I want to be able to use SELECT * from cars. I
don''t have a Car model because this DB was not created with Rails (it''s
from a PHP project).

icecast + liveice won't play nicely
I have gotten icecast and live ice both up and

Hi all,
This is my first contribution to this ML. I would like to post 2 questions:
1.
I have just installed ices 0.2.3 and icecast 1.3.12 and I am trying to
run them.
In my etc/icecast.const i have kept the 3 default passwords for the
encoder, admin and oper (hackme) and modified my etc/ices.conf as follow:
