Win32 streamer?
Where do I get oddcast at? I did a search on winamp.com and nothing and I did a google group lookup
to see if anyone was talking about it and I got back everything but what I was looking for.

DarkIce make problems
Hi everybody
I'm trying to encode the soundcard signal to serve it with IceCast, but
I'm having problems with making darkice-0.11. Anybody could help?
I'm compiling in a Solaris 6 OS with gcc 2.8.1, and I've installed lame
and Vorbis libraries.
This is my config phrase:
./configure --prefix=/aplicacions/icecast-1.3.12/darkice --with-lame
--with-vorbis

icecast2, ogg, mp3, etc
Hi,
Just wanted to clarify, can icecast2 not read OR broadcast any mp3, or
can it just not broadcast mp3 (but still play from a playlist)? I know the
quality would be dropped if it had to reencode them though.
And what's up with that POS Winamp3, it doesn't even play gg streams?!?
I use xmms, but we have winamp3 on a demo computer, it just sits and keeps
prebuffering. I need something

mount points and sourcing from winamp
Hi:
I know it's possible to listen to a stream mounted on a mountpoint using
winamp. I'd like to know if it's possible to make the shoutcast DSP plugin
source a stream on a mountpoint? If so, how do you do it? Does the
version matter? If you can't, will plugins like oddcast do it?
Geoff.

I mentioned this 1 or 2 years back but it's still not fixed. I presume it's
a Icecast2 server problem. I'm using the latest Oddcast client, and
my server host Mediacast1 has just updated to the latest Icecast2.
I'm currently streaming a track in Vorbis format called:
M?ire Brennan - I L?thair D?
It shows this correctly in Winamp on the broadcast PC.
On the Icecast Status page,

Winamp v5.22 / oddcast / aac+
I believe that Oddsock is using a Content Type of aacp.
Using a .aac extension with this Content Type may present a conflict.
This might actually be by design.
I will do some further testing with Winamp and report here tomorrow.
I will also double-check with the developer of Winamp for complete
clarification.
FYI, Orban Opticodec-PC allows the use of either Content Type of aac
or aacp. aac is

OT: OGG in the mainstream
I think when the real-time cbr encoding issues are sorted Vorbis (this is my
experience with oddcast dsp, winamp and icecast 2 win32, big cpu hog) will
start gaining more ground, also I think it will also gain more ground when
it starts getting implemented into the more mainstream software and hardware
products.
For the most part vbr mp3 (btw, provide mp3's for downloads as vbr.. Better

Client Problems
Thanks for the help, I can have people connect that are still on my local
network at school. People outside of it always get timed out.. Is there
something special I'm not doing (that i should) to give outsiders access ?

Icecast2 Configuration
I think I figured everything out on my own, BUT it gives me this error each
time I attempt to play a stream (using WinAmp's oddcast plugin). I have made
sure multiple times that the passwords in the Icecast config file & oddcast
config box are both the same!

Winamp 0% Buffering mp3 streams
I'm new to streaming or music hearing over the wire, I still prefer my
old-fashioned stereo equipment :-)
But a friend asked me to setup a shoutcast server for him, so I went out
and installed it, played a bit with it and didn't like it. So I looked for
an open source alternative and found Icecast. Installed fine, works fine.
But there is one thing which puzzles me and I hope someone

Wont Stream
Hello,
I have just setup an Icecast server on a FreeBSD box. Everything was setup
fine, and the server runs fine. It will accept shoutcast connections and
stream them fine - so there is no problem with that.
The problem is streaming Icecast. I am using the OGGDSP plugin for Winamp 3
and when I connect it - it will look as though everything is connected but
there is no lights flashing on my

[lists] Re: Re: How to complie Icecast2 on Win32
Thanks for everything. I just have one complaint: Oddcast won't save
my broadcasts. But I can get around that by having a second Winamp
session open and setting the vorbis decoder to save streams and then
tuning into my own stream.

Winamp v5.22 / oddcast / aac+
I'm not sure if this is an icecast issue or oddcast issue or both, but
the latest Winamp (v5.22) is not now playing AAC+ streams encoded with
Oddcast. Winamp v5.21 and earlier versions work fine. This may be some
attempt by Winamp developers to force people to use Shoutcast, or to
prevent oddcast from using their enc_aacplus.dll.
Right, just took some time to set up the Shoutcast DSP to
