Error: Client not receiving data fast enough
Hey all,
I've been having the same "Client not receiving data fast enough" errors.
I've got icecast configured so as not to send info to ANY yp directories.
Even on a quiet 100MB connection between client and server, I can stay
connected for only about 5 minutes at a shot if I'm lucky. I'm using
Icecast 1.3.11, and Shout 0.8.0. The files I'm streaming are all

Here are some specs on the problem I've been experiencing with mine.
Any advice?
Have searched the archive for this and seen only one other person with
the same issue however there was no reply to his post.
Here goes. I installed icecast version: 1.3.10 with shout version:
0.8.0 on my Redhat 7.1 700Mhz CPU with 128Mb of RAM. Got the streaming
to work however I keep seeing messages

AW: Icecast1: "Client din't data fast enough"
Hello Geoff, Hello Hagen,
I have also this problem, I use shoutcast with shout. on a Sun SPARCServer 5
with 170 Mhz, and I don't know what I can do. Making higher buffering at the
server-side ?!? but where ?
Using a better Maschine (Sun Ultra60 with 2x450 UltraSPARCII Processor) its
the same problem: the stream is broken with "Client din't data fast enough"
in Logfile. I hear

"no encoder" error
Hi. I've just got icecast set up and I'm trying to stream using
shout. That much seems to be working -- the shout console displays
the filenames from the playlist, gradually prints out a line of
dots, etc., etc., while the icecast console shows "accepted encoder
on mountpoint /default".
However, when I try to connect using freeamp, I get

Hey group,
I am getting this error from the icecast log whenever I try to connect to
my server to listen:
Kicking client 4 [xxx.blah.com] [Too many errors

seconds, 8192 bytes transfered. 0 clients connected
I am not sure what is causing this, ices or icecast? I have tried
re-compiling Icecast and Ices to not avail. I am

Where can you get libshout? Ours chokes at roughly 40 users and then
can't gain access to the admin sections.

Keeping icecast from kicking clients
I'm trying to setup Icecast so that clients can stay connected
indefinately. Basically sources will connect on occasion, but may
disconnect until they get instructions to connect again (think about a
jukebox that does not play music until something is selected. Now add in
distrubuted, thin clients and you realize why this is an important
feature).
According to the icecast authors, it is

"no encoder"
Hi,
I am a new user of icecast, and need help with the set up.
I am streaming two independent streams with shout (mount 1:shout1, mount
2:shout2). Icecast accepeted both streams on mountpoints /shout1 and
/shout2. I tried to receive each stream with Winamp using
"<a href="http://<IP">http://<IP</a>>:8000/shout1" and "<a

No, using winamp with the shoutcast plugin to get audio from an analog
stream.

Error: Client not receiving data fast enough
Hmmm, I am using Winamp for my client, will upgrade it, but it works for
other shoutcast/icecast streams. There has to be something buggered up in
my config somewhere. It sounds as if Ices is sending data too quickly to
icecast(?), will blow it away and re-complie it and see what happens.
Thanks for the help so far.
