Hello Sorry if i'm not exactly on the right list, but I'm sure you guys will help me :-) I have a problem with DarkIce, since the compiler can't find Lame libraries. I tried with Lame 3.70, 3.89beta (both hand-compiled) and a package (3.89 too), nothing works. Which version on Lame am I suposed tu use to make DarkIce work, and is there a secret trick to make it work ? :) Thank you

LiveIce and Zope
I have a very weird problem between Liveice and Zope. I start LiveIce with a script shell that works well. Since I want to run it under a Zope page I made a Zope "external method" to run the script through a Python module. When I call the method, the script is called by a function in the python module, and runs, but LiveIce does not work (seems like it does not even start). The weird

I have a problem with Icecast web admin interface. My icecast.conf file contains : acl_policy 1 deny all * allow all *.via.ecp.fr When connecting to my admin interface, I get a 403 error message ( You don't have access to this entity (stream or file).), and icecast says "Kicking unknown 48 [mallet.via.ecp.fr] [No mountfile found], connected for 0 seconds". Newbie question
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello! After the Mailer-Daemon disaster, I try to make another time the question. First, sorry if my english is not very correct :-) I'm a spanish student making a streaming project under Linux and I'd like to use Vorbis format but I have a problem. Now I have installed Icecast, LiveIce and the Lame encoder and they work... but in mp3 format.

Metadata once more...with Ices
I use Ices with the perl module. I would like to know how to use the function supposed to return metadata, for example to read Id Tag. I didn't find anything in the documentation. Are there commands to get all the fields provided by the IdTag ? I also had strange results when commenting this function (in that case it is supposed to stream the name of the song, by reading the IdTag). With

Stream read too fast / too slow
I know this is a recurrent question but I did not find anything to answer it in the archive... Here is my problem : after a file has been sent and read normally, sometimes the next one is read twice as slow or twice as fast as it should be. This is fixed by stopping the client and starting it again : this means that the problem does not really comes from the stream, which seams somehow to be

Propping up liveice
I'm a volunteer who runs the mp3 streaming for KGNU-FM in Boulder, Colorado. We stream live at 64K with Linux, icecast 1.3.12+ minor patches, liveice, and lame 3.92. It easily supports 32 internet listeners 24x7 from a donated 400MHz Pentium II. Liveice is the only problem--it does its job of connecting the soundcard rec in to the lame encoder and to icecast, but dies without

DarkIce 0.6 and Lame 3.89: underlying sink error
Hey, I've compiled DarkIce 0.6 dynamically linked to LAME 3.89. I'm running Slackware 8 and using gcc 2.95.3. Player Problems
Hi Everyone, Has anyone come across problems listening back to Mp3 streams using VLC? The reason I ask is that we [ResonanceFM] stream at 128K and at 24K (using two different Icecast instances). All players (Zinf, Winamp, Media Player etc) can play both streams bar VLC which seems to exhibt a skipping (i.e like the sound of a CD) problem when playing the 24K stream. Incidently it plays the 128

Re: DarkIce 0.6 and Lame 3.89: underlying sink error
Samuel, I had the same problem. I think it's because the port in darkice does not match the port icecast or shoutcast is listening on. I thought it was 8000 but it was actually 8001. Check that.
