ideas for on-demand streaming
You can still do this from icecast as icecast can be a rudimentary http streamer. If you enter the following: http://your.url.com:8000/list.cgi this will popup a page that will detail some status info about your icecast server. About half way down, there should be a link pointing you to a listing of the current mp3 files that are available via http (need to define this list). Click on this link

gen-mpegurl.m3u source/making a clean weblink to broadcast
Hi guys. I've been running icecast for awhile, and just upgraded to the latest version. Everything works fine, nice work. Here's the deal, I'm still not sure how to make a clean link to my broadcast. On the icecast.org site, it calls a cgi-bin file called 'gen-mpegurl.m3u.' This always stars up my broadcast nicely. Is there anyway to get the source code to

Vorbis still glitching on metadata update?
Greetings, I am trying to track down a bug with intermittant glitching in our Vorbis streams. I am running Icecast 2.3.2 on Ubuntu 9.04. Several Vorbis clients seem to glitch on some (not all) metadata updates. As we update metadata 3 to 4 times a minute, this is something we are trying to fix, VLC gives the following output on metadata update: main warning: the mixer got a packet in

What you could do, if you were so inclined, is to write a shell script that would cycle through your directories and create symbolic links in your main directory. Not pretty at all, but would solve your issue. Alternatively, a script could be written to cycle through your directories to create a custom web page to display ALL songs. A little prettier and again would solve your issue. My script

My MP3 collection is housed in /music/. There are

Mmm...I swear I read somehwere that the 7912G did SIP? Cisco lists it as an SCCP only phone? -- Undocumented Features quote of the moment... "It's not the one bullet with your name on it that you have to worry about; it's the twenty thousand-odd rounds labeled `occupant.'" --Murphy's Laws of Combat

Agent Call Back LOGOUT?
I can see how you log an agent in, but how to log one out? For login I think I'll have our people dial something like _8900XXXX, then use $(EXTEN:4} to get the callback extension automatically I can't find any better way at the moment, all my outgoing CID info needs to point to our main trunk line, but I'm not sure I can make that happen any other way than what I'm doing now

Using Shorewall + Linux Virtual Server LVS/DR
I''m havign a HUGE amount of difficulty getting shoreline to work with LVS. We use it here constantly so we know it works. The problem is packets come in, get directed to a webserver, webserver returns the packet to firewall, and then it goes into a black hole. rp_filter is off globally on all interfaces. LVS seems to be working right.... I use shorewall tcrules to mark packets on

7912 Compatible SIP Images?
Are the 7.x SIP images for the 7940/7960 compatible with the 7912 or no? I ask because there is a 'special' section for 7912 SIP images that seem to be on a totally different revision train. -- GPG/PGP --> 0xE736BD7E 5144 6A2D 977A 6651 DFBE 1462 E351 88B9 E736 BD7E

Zaptel errors (power alarm?)
We've been having lost dialtone problems on one of our analog station ports. Just before rebooting this time I noticed these in our dmesg output....once the PBX comes back I'll get the times, but I can't help but think this must have something to do with it. Anyone? Do we need to have digium send us a replacement part? Ouch, part reset, quickly restoring reality (1) Power alarm

Poor ipsec performance with policy match
Hello ! I have a performance issue with Kernel 2.6.X and policy match support as suggested in http://shorewall.net/IPSEC-2.6.html. My IPSEC performance doesn''t exeed about 30kbyte/sec even if my downlink is 1024kbit/sec and should reach more than 100kbyte/sec. No, its not the cpu''s performance (AMD Barton 2500+) and no it''s not the gateway (CELERON 600 Mhz) on the

On Demand Streaming
Hi, I am searching for a good manual which has step by step information on creating On demand Play list where users can choose their songs and play them. BTW: Is this is possible? If so, can you please send me the information on how it can be done or any link which has these? I have Icecast 2.2.0 version, which is running on windows XP. Please help me out. A reply would be appreciated ?

icecast on-demand streaming iPhone
We are using icecast for live and on-demand streaming of recorded live sessions. The problem occurs with the on-demand streaming on IPhone's: the recording starts playing and after 5 - 7 minutes it starts over again from the beginning. We think it might be caused in the handling of partial content. The icecast log shows at the first connection a "206 Partial Content" answer, but a
