Trying to stream to a Nanocaster/2.0 server
Hi all,
I'm attempting to stream audio to a live365.com server, more
specifically, it is a Nanocaster/2.0 server:
HTTP/1.0 200 OK
Server: Nanocaster/2.0
Content-Type: audio/mpeg
Cache-Control: no-cache
Pragma:no-cache
Connection: close
Content-Length: 44000000
I tried Liveice (XMMS plugin) and it wouldn't connect properly. I
tried ices, that too would not work. I even tried DarkIce

push data instead of pull
Hi,
I have a rsync server set up.
Can i push data from the server to another machine
instead of pulling data from that machine.
when i try to do that i get this error.
mkdir tohost:/tmp ; No such file or directory.
But the directory exists. This is the command i
executed.
rsync -avz --rsync-path=/usr/bin/rsync
fromhost::test tohost:/tmp
This works fine if iam logged onto "tohost"

Olympics: 200m Men Final
Hello,
Have you seen the log-linear prediction of the 100m winning time in R
mailed to the list yesterday by David Smith, subject Revolutions Blog:
July roundup?

sprint time to be 9.68 seconds (it was actually 9.63 seconds):

samba -i prints some strange stuff
I did a complete installation of Red Hat 7.2 on my Dell Inspiron 5000
laptop from RH6.2. I had SAMBA running on it fine until I wiped my
hard drive and installed RH 7.2. So now I have to learn how to set up
SAMBA with xinetd. I saw a newer version of SAMBA on the SAMBA.org
web site so I downloaded it. After reading the INSTAll file and
following the instructions it created an RPM in:

Proposed header file changes to allow for dynamic linking of DLLs at runtime
Sorry for the attachment, but I do not know of another way to communicate
the details of my proposed changes to the dev team.
While writing RipTrax (a ripper + encoder program), I wanted to make all
encoder DLLs dynamically linkable at runtime. I first check for the
existence of the dll, open the library with Load Library and then do a
GetProcAddress for each routine I plan to use. With the

Serial port fun: CentOS 4.8 (32-bit) vs. CentOS 5.4 (64-bit)
I am in the process of migrating from running CentOS 4.8 (32-bit) to
CentOS 5.4 (64-bit) on my AMD Sempron(tm) Processor LE-1300 system (it
is running CentOS 4.8 32-bit because the disk images are from a
previous PIII system), and things are 'interesting' WRT how the Lava
Computer mfg Inc Quattro-PCI card is being handled.
lspci (on CentOS 4.8 32-bit) yields:

debugging libxc / builders
Hi,
I''m playing with the builders in libxc. I am having trouble
debugging the thing. I was wondering what options I have.
- When I run ''xm create'', what process calls down to the
xc_builder stuff? Can I attach to it with gdb?
- Is there any way to spit out debug output (printf?)? Where
would it go?
- If I make changes and do a make install in

Yes here's the fix from Thierry:

and I can confirm that it does fix the Oops when applied on top
of next-20181206 (what I used for the bisection last week):

Solaris and W2K
I'm hoping someone out there has run across this
problem. I have 20 Sun Ultra30 SPARC machines that I
need to get running in a university lab. There is an
existing W2K/ADS server for authenticating users.
I have installed Samba on one of the Solaris stations
to test. I have been able to join the domain and I
can see the users and groups on the W2K domain using
wbinfo.
The problem, and the

ssh-keyscan: xmalloc out of memory error
hi all,
I got "xmalloc: out of memory" when i used
ssh-keyscan to a remote host that is using
SSH protocol 2 and only protocol 2 (no fallback
to SSH protocol 1).
Looks to me more like ssh-keyscan doesn't talk
SSH protocol 2 to the server.
Please help.
Here is the exact error:
# /usr/local/bin/ssh-keyscan -v miad_1

FLAC__stream_decoder_get_input_bytes_unconsumed
Is there a reason for having the
FLAC__stream_decoder_get_input_bytes_unconsumed function private. This
function is required now by two of my filters for seeking and buffer
managment, when not all data is available from the beginning.

Unexpected writeCallback() calls
Hello!
I've recently written a FLAC input plugin which uses the
seekable stream decoder API of libFLAC 1.02. It works so
far, but one thing is pretty annoying and should be changed
in future libFLAC versions, IMHO:
The writeCallback is not only called after functions which
do decoding (like process_whole_stream(), process_one_frame()
or process_remaining_frames()), ie. where one expects that
