Problem with dual streaming
I've been using liveice to feed an encoded stream to an icecast broadcast server. Now I want to feed two streams at the same time to the broadcast server. To acomplish that I am using a dual soundcard setup in a debian linux server. I've setup two different mountpoints in the icecast server wich will receive the stream and in turn will broadcast the streams to the listeners. This is, the

Missing Files/Missing Folders from an NFS Share
I think it has a lot to do with telldir on an NFS share returning a cookie that is supposed to be unique rather than an actual offset. Problem is, that cookie is stored as a 31bit hash which can then end up as a negative signed offset in Samba which is not handled correctly. The cookies are not necessarily consecutive as you move through a directory. On Mon, 27 Feb 2023 at 19:00, Jeremy Allison

Missing Files/Missing Folders from an NFS Share
By the way, there is nothing special about an AWS EFS share as far as I can see. It is just basically an NFS share. The answer some others were saying about Samba sharing the folder out from the NFS server isn?t possible. In AWS there is no access to the server behind EFS other than the NFS share itself. EFS has to be mounted as NFS. No other protocols are supported (eg CIFS or AFS). Anyway the

Something not good.
Hello, If it is on a (VMware) virtual machine, maybe the network capacity or cpu capacity might be consumed by other virtual machines ? Could there be a backup process running on the other machines ? Hello, Could the experienced people help me? 1:) Is it possible to start liveice in the background like icecast and shout?? 2:) If I insert another sound card to PC(it will have 2 or more sound cards). Is it enough to specify "SOUND_DEVICE" option to /dev/dspX in liveice.cfg and start another liveice session with that configuration file??? 3:) With many efforts I fail to start darkice

Icecast / liveice quandry
i know with icecast2/ices , karl heyes has some example config files for mixing live/static content ( if i recall correctly ) . however, what i had done in the past is add the static file to the .pls prior to the live mount . if you generate the .pls files on demand , this would work . ALSO , i'm quite sure that both icecast1/2 support intro/outtro files , etc .. this may achieve the same

Icecast / liveice quandry
I've been running classic icecast + liveice for some time now (several years) without problems. A couple days ago, the station manager (NPR affiliate) came to me and asked if we could 'inject' a static file into the stream. Basically what he wants is for the client to first receive a static file (requesting donations of course) and then on to the live stream (*not* intermittently).

Icecast, Liveice... experiences?

By leaving LAME and trying to go with L3ENC > or whatever the current version is -- will that improve stability? One more for Darkice here. My experiences with LiveIce were less than fruitful. I used to use the shoutcast plugin on windows but,

Multiple Mountpoints Problem
Hello, I've searched far and wide on the net and the only thing I've come up with is that no one has ever had this problem. I'm running Icecast 1.3.12 and the latest liveice on a Slackware 8.1 box. The idea here is that I need to stream a live source in multiple bitrates. I am having a problem that is just about going to send me back to Shoutcast. I have set up two

Liveice & Icecast...help
Yes, I downloaded the aumix utility and am using it now. Set line in to %50 then %25 and to record but still the same thing. I'm streaming from the line in on the sound card which is being fed from a portable radio nearby. I get the distortion whether I have the audio fed into 'line in' or not. Re: keeping liveice running
Matt -- I actually came up with a much more elegant script. On FreeBSD there is a command 'fstat' (I'm sure this could be modified to use 'lsof' or something of the like). First of all, while liveice and icecast are running properly, # fstat -m | grep liveice |wc -l for me yeilds 56 or 57. I let liveice die and checked again, and that number went significantly down.

liveice SAVE_FILE
Hi Bruno, > or ist there some other solution concerning dump (or save) files? I wrote a patch that might be useful to you. It doesn't do exactly what you described, but maybe it'll work anyway. It lets you tell liveice to close and reopen its savefiles while it's running. You can also start/stop save_file archiving entirely:
