Limiting Dovecot access by user-spesific ip addresses?
Hi, Is there any possibility to limit access to mailboxes by user-spesific ip addresses? So, I'd like to have a configuration which by default restricts reading emails to company's own ip-address range. So far, this could be achieved by a basic firewall rule, but not any more the following: However, there is need for a few users to access their emails from world-wide internet, so there

"Duplicate workgroup names in browse list" problem reappeared in 3.0.5
Starting from version 3.0.2 (or .3?) there were a misfeature that caused workgroup names to show up as duplicates in workstations' browse lists. Fix for this didn't reach into 3.0.5-pre1, but rc1 had this fixed. Today I upgraded 3.0.5-rc1 to 3.0.5-2 (FC2 binary rpm from samba.org) and the problem reappeared. To be more spesific, the problem appears when there are more that one workgroup

How does the libvirt deal with the vnet mac address
How does the libvirt deal with the vnet mac address? Greetings, if I establish a network for the VM (hypervisor is KVM) using bridge in the virt-manager , a vnet0 device is created . There are some relationships about mac address between the vnet0 device in the hypervisor and the ethX device in the VM, for example : the mac address of vnet0 is FE:54:00:84:E3:62 the mac address of ethX in the VM

Samba Compile Error on 3.0.7 and 3.0.8 Pre 1 on X64 Fedora
Hi Exact same error occures on a dual AMD64 Fedora Core 3 64 bit with samba 3.0.20Pre1. However, I have discovered taht putting the compile option "-m32" in the C compiler flags, which force 32 bit compilation, the error doesn't happen. The sad part of the story is that compilation crash later in the process. It may be a compilatotor/linker error when assembler code is created, but

Connecting ethX devices directly to a KVM/QEMU guest OS (no bridging)
Hello CentOS gurus, and a belated Happy New Year (or an early Happy Chinese New Year). I'm in the process of building a CentOS-6 KVM host machine whose only function will be to run four independent 'm0n0wall' firewall guest instances. I have a couple of quad-port Intel NICs to provide four WAN-side and four LAN-side ports, which will not be shared with any other guests. Remote

[Bridge] [RFC] bridge kernel API change
Here is the proposed revision to the bridge utilities interface to the kernel. The driving force is that the existing interface can't easily be converted to 32/64 bit compat. Right now, the bridge-utils (brctl) tries to handle 32bit command on 64 bit kernel, but the code is limited to sparc and wrong. Here is what I am thinking. get version - not needed? get bridges -

[Bridge] Bringing up bridge at boot (properly)
Currently my ethernet bridge has 2 intel 100mps NIC's that are both part of a bridge. ( I followed the sample setup on the bridge.sf.net page.) In addition to this I would like to access the internet from within the ethernet bridge and when using the sample instructions I have no gateway setup and no default route (0.0.0.0). I know this data has to be attached to the bridge device and not to

How vifX.Y and eth talk on dom0 with NAT configuration?
Hi, in the official XenNetworking ( http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenNetworking ) i didn''t find reported how the NAT configuration works with xen. Does anybody know how the vifX.Y (10.X.X.128), gateway of any domU ethX (10.X.X.1) talk with the real ethX of the dom0? Setting up virtual ''ethX'' devices in Xen 3.4
Hi all, Up until now, we''ve been using Xen 3.0 on CentOS 5.x. Under this setup, dom0 was given a virtual ''ethX'' with the original ''ethX'' (now ''pethX'') IP address. Under this older config, neither ''pethX'' or ''xenbrX'' had an IP address. The logic was to keep traffic from the domU''s, through

Anybody Configure Shorewall w/ Sangoma WANPipe T1?
Hi, I learned about shorewall a few days ago and am quite impressed with how easy it was to create a powerful firewall. I set up a test system with a cable modem and it worked flawlessly. I''m going to be building a Router/Firewall for a new T1 that will be using a Sangoma WANpipe card w/ integrated CSU/DSU to connect to a T1. Has anybody done this yet, or do you know if it''s

Desktop-operations in Metacity and Compiz.
Hello, I'm developing a fancy screenshot application for the GNOME-desktop using GTK and GDK libraries (and some Xlib stuff too). When taking a screenshot of a window, my code first finds out in which desktop the window lies (resides) and then moves to that desktop and takes a screenshot. This is quite easy to do under the Metacity window manager, but I cannot make this work right in Compiz

Using Julian Anastasov''s ''routes'' patches on 2.4 kernel in conjunction with IPSec
Hello, I use Julian Anastasov ''routes'' (to be more specific: static_routes, alt_routes and nf_reroute) patches on a 2.4.32 kernel. On the same host I run IPSec. I have discovered after a few hours of networking problems that, when IPSec is enabled on that patched kernel, inspecting packets with tcpdump while arping-ing a host from a network physically connected to this

connmark on ifb interfaces
