IceS compiling problems
I have serious problems to compile IceS on a debian (woody), kernel 2.4.18.
I have to say the configure script does not find anything...
- I installed libshout and libshout-dev downloaded drom the icecast site. I
have shout.h :
0:33 root@radiopi2 /usr/include/shout# ls
shout.h
Yet configure gives me this :
~/sources/ices-0.2.2% ./configure --with-libshout=/usr/include

compile error
Hello,
I hope this is the place to bug ppl about compile errors. So here I go.
I downloaded the latest through CVS last night and ran ./autogen.sh according to the manual and ran into the following error. Does anyone happen to have a fix for it?
I am on FreeBSD 4.6 Stable.
Thanks in advance,
Till

automake problem
Hi again.
Which version of automake is used for the sources of icecast (& co)?
Which versions of automake will be able to work with the files on cvs?
I'd also like to ask you if some of you got to build the icecast 2 sources correctly
with redhat 7.2, 7.3 or 8.0.
I am getting the following error doing an ./autogen.sh:
I am going to run ./configure with no arguments - if you wish

autoconf v2.13
automake v1.4
I've upgraded to autoconf v2.50 and updated flac from cvs. The error is
being generated by aclocal anyway and that's part of automake v1.4.

ices question...
When I run ices with icecast running, I get
You have no libxml support. The config file you just specified cannot be
used.
Ices Exiting...
I installed the rpms for libxml and libxml-devel. What else do I need?

libxml error (or am I just being dumb?)
I've been trying to compile ices and icecast all night. I have narrowed
the problem down to libxml. I have tried several rpms of libxml2 and
libxml2-devel all to no avail. I don't expect support on this alpha
release but just a reply to say that it's a common issue or wether I am
just a dunce would be nice. :)
Thanks
Hans
The follwing are installed by RPM:

CVS/test version config/build failures on FreeBSD
While diagnosing a problem I was having with IMAP and SSL (which I ended up
fixing by simply upgrading from 0.99.9.1 to 0.99.10, and possibly affected by
upgrading openssl libs from 0.9.7a to 0.9.7.b), I attempted to try the CVS
version of Dovecot.
When using the CVS version, apparently I have to first generate 'configure'
using autogen.sh (?). This was the result of that, on FreeBSD

compiling under redhat
Hi there.
I have tried to compile icecast 2 by following
the instructions on http://www.xiph.org/archives/icecast/2870.html
After I upgrated my cvs version i was able to check out
the source just as in the above mentioned inscrution,
but when doing a ./autogen.sh it gave me the following errors:
I am going to run ./configure with no arguments - if you wish
to pass any to it, please specify them

trouble compiling vorbis 1.0 on openbsd
Compiled libbogg and libao using ./configure; make
Then moved to libvorbis source folder
Installed libtool (1.3.5p3), autoconf (2.52) and
automake (1.4-p5). gnu make is also there (3.79.1)
i had to create a link for autoconf as after
install it was installed as /usr/local/bin/autoconf-new
so i added a link from it to
/usr/local/bin/autoconf
output from ./autogen is:
--
$ ./autogen.sh

compile error
in the FreeBSD ports there already is something for ices2 and icecast2.
it's a little on the old side (from november 2002).
cvsup the latest ports tree, though, you should update your box to 4.7
as well ... or 4.8-rc if you really want to be l33t.
i've asked the port maintainer to at least put the oddsock yp hack in
there or at least to update the port, but he hasn't yet.

Compiling Icecast2 on RedHat9 or maybe another Linux
Hi Dave,
I am now trying to compile Icecast2 under RedHat9. I get some errors when I
try to ./configure so the make file is not created. Can you take a look at
the attached file and tell me what is wrong? I tried to compile it on
another RedHat9 computer but I got the same results...
I think I will dedicate one computer ONLY to icecast2. In this case, could
you advise me the best Linux
