darkice question
Hello,
Can darkice take it's input from a playlist or must it have a sound
card? If the latter i am looking for a streamer that goes with icecast2, can
handle both mp3 and ogg, can take input from either a playlist or a sound
card, and can do on-the-fly encoding. From what i've read i don't believe
ices-02 does this.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.
Dave.

libshout2, ices0-3 and ices2 on Win32. Announce
Hi Abhijit
I can't answer your questions but I would be very interested in a fully
working binary of Ices2 for Win32 once it's ready. Thanks for the
effort.
Best regards,
Ross Levis

DarkIce make problems
Hi everybody
I'm trying to encode the soundcard signal to serve it with IceCast, but
I'm having problems with making darkice-0.11. Anybody could help?
I'm compiling in a Solaris 6 OS with gcc 2.8.1, and I've installed lame
and Vorbis libraries.
This is my config phrase:
./configure --prefix=/aplicacions/icecast-1.3.12/darkice --with-lame
--with-vorbis

icecast2.xml or darkice.cfg?
Hi there,
I?m a bit stuck, not sure if I should be configuring the icecast.xml, or if I?m doing something wrong in the darkice.cfg.
Works perfect streaming from its self, but as soon as I add a shoutcast stream, it breaks ? commenting out the icecast section in darkice.cfg I have tried various combinations of configurations with no luck.
I am testing the possibilities in streaming to an on-line

icecast2/darkice
Ok, I'm using icecast2 (latest cvs as of maybe 3 hours ago) and darkice
.9.1 all compiled under debian/sid with gcc 2.95.4. Everything works
ok, as long as I'm using ogg123 to listen to my stream.
using xmms (1.27 in in debian sid) it'll buffer up to 50% and then start
over again seemingly indefinitely. with winamp 2.80 in winxp, I get
nothing but silence, I'd normally thing

Well I read the instructions this time...duh...
I've got Redhat 7.1...followed the instructions in the INSTALL.lame file for Redhat. I don't have gcc3 installed I guess cause it still failed.

Curious ices2 log entries
Hello Folks: Every now and then my ogg123 quits while loistening to
the stream. It isn't a bandwidth problem because my ogg123 is on a
machine which is just a few feet from the server and is in fact on the
same machine with ices2 doing the streaming. It happened this morning
and I decided to take a look at the log and found some curious
messages and thought maybe I'd post them here and

Simple source on Debian
Hello everyone.
I just joined this list, and I was wondering if any of you might have
any suggestions. I'm looking for a source that will run on Debian,
that would simply send mp3 files I have in a folder to my Icecast2
server in a random order. I do not require anything special, like
random ads, scheduling support, etc.
I've given Liquidsoap a try, but it seems to be far too complex for

multiple ices streams and misc other stuff?
Hi all: I was just wondering when the multiple streams stuff might be
checked in to cvs. I remember the gentleman working on it saying he
basically had it running? The reason I'm asking is that I have
received a number of requests to stream my mp3 stream at various
bitrates. I kind of think running three ices streamers is silly if
multiple streams will be available in the near future.

Hello!
First, sorry if my english is not very correct :-)
I'm a spanish student making a streaming project under Linux and I'd
like to use Vorbis format but I have a problem. Now I have installed
Icecast, LiveIce and the Lame encoder and they work... but in mp3
format. Lame don't have any problem with Vorbis but Icecast and

Simple source on Debian
Hi there.
Thanks for the tip about Ices2. Do you know if it's possible to make
it work with mp3 files? I only ask because there are several people
who stream using my server, and they use mp3. I'm trying to create
fallback streams, but in order for that to work, I'd have to get them
to switch to ogg or find a way to make Ices work with mp3.
Thanks

Directory listing disappeared
Hi:
Last week, I upgraded an icecast2 server and enabled the directory code.
The primary streams that run on it showed up nicely. As some may recall, I
had issues with libshout compiling (seems the sources got hosed somehow, a
fresh checkout fixed everything after all else failed), and I just compiled
the latest ices2. I noticed, with some surprise, that the config file
hadn't changed in

ices2 could support mp3, but it would be a non-trivial exercise, plus
it would require libshout2 to support mp3 as well (which it does not,
currently). If anyone wants to implement it, I'll be happy enough to
add it, but I don't intend to

libshout2, ices0-3 and ices2 on Win32. Announce
Hello..
I have libshout2, ices0-3 and ices2 compiling on Win32
with
MSVC++ 6.0.
However, I don't know where to upload the code and if
someone is kind enuff to point out the
location(s)/procedure
that would be great. I will put a readme in the distro
for compiling procedures.
ices2 compiles but doesn't run correctly (yet). There
are
some issues related to parsing the ices-playlist.xml

ices2 compile error, ignore previous msg
Oops!
I accidently sent the previous message before I finished it, sorry!
However, the problem remains the same. I cannot succesfully compile ices2 for
some reason. I've followed some instructions I found on the web at
http://www.6809.org.uk/kja3/ices2-howto.shtml.
So far, what I've done is:
1) Installation of Slackware 8.1 (with libxml2 2.4.22, gcc 2.95.3)
2) Update of the oggutils
