Tried both the binary and compiling the src. Both leaking. It the setting suggested in "INSTALL.lame" didn't work and so I suspected the compiliation settings so I tried various settings. The easiest way to accomplish this is to create a 2nd directory containing liveice & its config file. You can't run 2 instances in the same directory - their temp files will overwrite each other. The problem is, it works when I plug it into the 'Mic' input of my soundcard, but It doesnt work when I plug it into the 'Line-In' input of the soundcard. Yes, I downloaded the aumix utility and am using it now. Set line in to %50 then %25 and to record but still the same thing. I'm streaming from the line in on the sound card which is being fed from a portable radio nearby. I get the distortion whether I have the audio fed into 'line in' or not.
