Hmm... I haven't had that problem with the KPFA servers. I just run two different configuration files. From my rc.local file... echo Starting local icecast servers /usr/local/icecast/bin/icecast -c /usr/local/icecast/conf/icecast.kpfa.conf -b > /dev/null 2>&1 /usr/local/icecast/bin/icecast -c /usr/local/icecast/conf/icecast.kpfb.conf -b > /dev/null 2>&1 Tim On Mon, Sep

Darkice memory leak
Tried both the binary and compiling the src. Both leaking. It the setting suggested in "INSTALL.lame" didn't work and so I suspected the compiliation settings so I tried various settings. The compiler version is the one coming with RedHat 7.2 gcc3-3.0.1-3. Kristjan <p><p><p><p>-----Original Message----- From: owner-icecast@xiph.org

Liveice & Icecast...help
How do I change the record volume. I am doing all this from the console, no GUI. I have not seen anything in any of the config files to set the record volume. The easiest way to accomplish this is to create a 2nd directory containing liveice & its config file. You can't run 2 instances in the same directory - their temp files will overwrite each other. Contrary to what others have written, liveice works just fine once it's set up. That's not always easy, though... :-) -bg ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kristján Guðni

Hey, Tim. His problem was with liveice - which only allows one instance per directory because it uses named pipes with hard-coded filenames - not with icecast. > Hmm... Liveice & Icecast...help
I'm running FreeBSD 4.2. I downloaded and installed Icecast 1.3.10, Liveice, mpg123, and Lame. I know the Icecast streamer is working because I can feed it from WinAMP on my PC and listen to the stream somewhere else and it sounds fine. I know liveice is working too because Icecast shows that it connects and is sending audio to it. However when I listen to the stream on my PC with WinAMP

Frustrated with Ubuntu XMMS, XMMS-Liveice, and icecast
I have XMMS and XMMS-liveice setup to use ALSA to stream audio to my icecast server using LAME encoding. I start the sound file and i can see XMMS playing away happily, icecast detects the connection and shows the source as being connected, but no bandwisth useage. If I connect to the icecast server I get a client connection, but no sound. Scanning other forums there appears that there might

Little Liveice Help
Hi, I have one question, which is really stupid, but I should probably go ahead and ask. I am trying to take a live feed and stream it. The problem is, it works when I plug it into the 'Mic' input of my soundcard, but It doesnt work when I plug it into the 'Line-In' input of the soundcard. I mean the liveice doesnt stream anything in that case. I am usin 'NO_MIXER"

Liveice & Icecast...help
Yes, I downloaded the aumix utility and am using it now. Set line in to %50 then %25 and to record but still the same thing. I'm streaming from the line in on the sound card which is being fed from a portable radio nearby. I get the distortion whether I have the audio fed into 'line in' or not. Darkice memory leak
ups, sorry for fuzzy description. I use "top" to watch the running processes. It updates every 5 seconds. I am running RedHat 7.2, download from one of Redhats mirros. Haven't installed any updates of Redhat 7.2. The box is a fresh PC with Amd Athlon 1700XP, 128MB, two SoundBlaster 16 PCI using OSS drivers. Any info missing? Unfortunately I can't reproduce your memory leak reports. For example, here is the line about my production darkice instance from top: PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND 27516 root 20 0 3564 3564 1340 S 95.6 1.3 47:06 darkice <p>this as after approx 50 minutes from start, but the memory load doesn't change for the whole 4 hours it

broadcast FM radio
Hi. I want to broadcast FM radio. Can i pass data directly from my radio card to livecast and finally to my server, or must i pass data in the sound card after the radio card and before liveice?
