You should ook around in Realplayer's configuration setting. The problem is probably that you as a user, installed Realplayer, and clicked yes every time without looking through what it was going to do. So now you need to manually remove the association of .m3u files to realplayer and make sure winamp opens them. It's possible you can do this from realplayer, but maybe that's been

Oh, the problems that RealPlayer causes run much deeper than this - and aren't solved quite that easily. The fix below *should* work, certainly - but it won't. Anyone experiencing conflicts after installing or updating Winamp or RealPlayer should read through the stuff in the support forum at www.winamp.com. > You should ook around in Realplayer's configuration setting. > The

My problem is not with the Icecast server, but with my user's ability to get a decent client to play the streams. I have 3 Icecast streams created using Ices, and the mountpoints have the mp3 extension. My users and I have observed: 1) If Quick Time is brought up by the browser, it skips and chokes on the stream. 2) If Windows Media is brought up by the browser, it will do either of two

Looking for a re-encoding utility
I would like to batch re-encode MP3 files on the Icecast host. A command-line utility to take say a 56kbps MP3 file as input and produce a 20kbps MP3 file as out would be ideal. --------------------------------------------------------------- Todd Merriman - Rainbow Radio Sound & Light +1 770 889 5897 8030 Pooles Mill Dr., Ball Ground, GA 30107 dj@RainbowRadio.com http://www.RainbowRadio.com

Looking for a client to feed Icecast
Would like to use a Windows client with a line-in processor to feed an icecast server. Have tried Winamp, but could not get the plugin recommended in this forum to work. Looked at the Sonique site, and could not find plugins that would do line-in and server out. Any recommendataions? Looking for a client to feed Icecast
Todd -- I was actually able to get this working with the WinAmp plugin, Oddsock (www.oddsock.org) last night. The configuration is a little twitchy, but worked well for my purpose. Email me directly if you need help. Roy At 09:17 PM 03/02/02 -0500, you wrote: >Would like to use a Windows client with a line-in processor to >feed an icecast server. Line input to client for Icecast Server
My needs are simple. I need a Windows client to accept the line input on my sound board and stream it to an Icecast server. I plan to encode the stream at 56kbps stereo. I tried this about 2 years ago using Winamp with the Oddsock plugin. This turned out to be a very time-wasting excersize in futility. I gave up, but now I'm back hoping the technology (and documentation) is there. My

Winamp plugin skips?
In my cpu, with winamp2.7 and in_vorbis.dll(v0.1), the track skips at the end of the song...It's like it plays the last 1/10th of a sec twice... And it only happens when playing to to the system's sound card, that is, when i play it with winamp's disk_output plugin, the track is decoded correctly... Has it happened to anyone yet? Coz i haven't seen anyone talking about it... ---

Strange results encoding with latest ffmpeg2theora-0.24 and playback on Directshow through Winamp
Hi Folks, First, I would like to thank the eople in development who are doing so much to develope these great video and audio tools. I use Ogg Vorbis to store most of my music projects in studio and the results are stunning. Quite frankly, in the audio file reduction game, nothing beats Ogg Vorbis and I can personally say this from my own experience. So a huge thank you to the team. I've

When using Winamp's diskwriter with the ogg plug-in v1.13 the resulting wav files are only named 01, 02, etc. So the original names are lost. I hope Peter can fix this. streaming silence to Winamp
Hi, I have just integrated libshout2 and libvorbisenc into mserv, my music server (www.mserv.org). It all works well. Thanks for a great product. The problem I have is that when there is a pause between songs of around 10 seconds, Winamp (2.91) decides (due to the 64kbps dropping to a 2kbps stream I guess), that it needs to re-buffer. It fails miserably and generally dumps the connection, or

Uh, looks like I didn't read closely enough to recognize the depth of the problem :-). Jack's instructions on making/using .m3u files will make the stream play in Winamp. To have it play in RealPlayer, use an identical file - but with a .ram extension. -bg > > The URL looks like this: http://www.RainbowRadio.com:8000/club.mp3 > > > > My goal is to instruct users as

osx and icecast
I've got two quick q's about icecast. If these two q's have already been answered, could someone let me know when so I know where to look in the archives? Here's the siutation. Macamp has now gone bunk and I need to broadcast my dj show from my home to a server that has NullSoft shoutcast. The dj's normally use winamp's shoutcast plugin to broadcast to the shoutcast

Winamp "send to" menu is missing
Hi everybody! This is a problem that brakes my head in two. I installed Winamp v 5.6 on Ubuntu 10.04, Wine v 1.2.2, and although it works ok, the submenu "send-to" doesn't appear. So I can't make file type conversions with Winamp. I have read here http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18926 that the problem lies in the file comctl32.dll, so I tried copying it from a Windows
