If you use Nullsoft's tools, you cannot specify mount points. That's

icecast with winAmp as the streamer
All Icecast head.
I agree oddcast DSP plugin is more steady with Icecast. But I encounter bad passwork. I have specified the encoder password in the icecast.conf which match the plugin password. But it still didn't work. Where else to specify, and how ?. What about group.aut, mount.aut and users.aut. ?. Example ?..

I have been successfully streaming mp3's with icecast for about a year now with 1.3.12, but I have never needed to add a second stream until now.
I know this is hashed out over and over in the list of please forgive me if I post yet another plea for help. And I am sorry I am not using icecast2. but I don't need to. I have tried everything that I can think of but cannot get the second

[ problem remotely loginning into web admin interface]
Hello,
I think I figured this problem out.
History... After installing icecast last week I had been unable
to get the /admin to work. So today I looked into the code. From
that exploration it seems that the *.aut files (or at least the
mounts.aut) needs to be in the conf directory.
If you follow the code in client.c line 176...
char *secfile = get_icecast_file (info.mountfile, conf_file_e,

Hi ...
I've installed and configured icecast following the readme and manual
but can't connect from my windows client, I get this message in the logs:
[05/Mar/2002:09:28:50] [5:Connection Handler] Kicking unknown 1
[172.16.141.52] [No encoder], connected for 1 seconds
To test it, I've placed demo.mp3 in /usr/local/icecast/static/ and try

Admin question[s]
welcome to the list.
Check the archives.
There you will find about one newbie a month minimum discovering that the
widely distributed and still available shout package version 0.8.0
is actually deprecated and highly broken in exactly the manner you
describe.

Admin question[s]
Hello,
I'm brand new to this streaming stuff so please bear with me.
I have installed and am running icecast 1.3.10, ices latest version:
0.0.1 beta5
and/or shout 0.8.0. No major problems with the exception of the
clients like to drop off
[and I see this problem posted before but didn't see any fix for it].
Btw... this is on Linux Slackware 7 operating system.
My question is

client authentication for icecast2
There's been discussion on the list regarding source authentication
schemes, but I haven't yet heard anything or seen anything in the source
regarding client authentication (users.aut, groups.aut, mounts.aut). Is
this or a similar scheme planned for icecast2 and if so, will it be in
the beta release? I'm considering modifying icecast to store it's client
authentication info in

Admin headaches
Greetings
I just migrated from a Debian install to a Gentoo install, and I'm
having some issues getting the admin page to work.
I have setup the acl policy and hosts.allowed the same way as on
the Debian box, but I can't figure out how to use the *.aut files.
When I try to connect to the admin page, I get this:
[31/Jan/2004:00:12:03] [11:Connection Handler] No mountfile found,

A mountpiont is a fragment of a URL (often referred to as a URI) like
'/stream1' or '/my_cool_stuff/stream.ogg'
You tell shout, ices, or whatever what mountpoint to use.
