Is it a mis-configuration? Sometime to do w/ LAME? I have no clue where to start -Russ On Sun, 5 Aug

Error: Client not receiving data fast enough
Hmmm, I am using Winamp for my client, will upgrade it, but it works for other shoutcast/icecast streams. There has to be something buggered up in my config somewhere. It sounds as if Ices is sending data too quickly to icecast(?), will blow it away and re-complie it and see what happens. Thanks for the help so far. yeah, essentialmix.ca is directly related to the Essential mix broadcasts off

I have been fiddling with the darn thing for three days now, and i am at whits end. I dunno why it isn't working. Any help is so much appreciated. I am trying to use mpg123, liveice and icecast on my Alpha. It does not have a sound card. All three programs compile without any problems. If i did not know better, i just might a throw the alpha off the space station and watch it burn up on

solaris success??
icecast 1.3.10 is the server i'm running, but its ices 0.1 that gives me a segfault under solaris. it works just fine on my linux box. ices 0.2 doesn't segfault, but it seems to overrun the server (if that makes any sense), it plays a 3 minute file in seconds. maybe i'll have to switch to mod_mp3 for my solaris boxes. I have also tried to compikle lame from source with libsndfile and it complains about finding that.

Lame, Bitrates, ReEncoding I
I'd like to use the Bitrate and Reencode features of ices and understand I must recompile with lamelib. However, it's Very Unclear where to begin here. This is noted in the ices-0.2.3 INSTALL file: I installed lame as a debian package so lame.h is in /usr/include/lame/lame.h and libmp3lame.a is in /usr/lib. configure finds everything automatically. <p>I assume we
