Er, what version of ices are you running? ices 0.1.0 will not work
with 3.86. Lame 3.88 also builds much better.

Trouble with LiveIce
Hi Folks,
I'm having trouble getting liveice to work. I have not figured out if I'm
supposed to pipe in the audio device(?) It's not working either way.
Here's what I see by running ./liveice :

Attempting to Contact Server

Using liveice-xmms with icecast
hi,
in an attempt to set up a little stream, i downloaded and installed
both icecast2 and liveice-xmms. i can start icecast2, and i can
modify the settings to the xmms plugin from within xmms, but i'm at a
loss as to how to create a stream, connect it to the server, or then
listen to it. i've been looking at the docs on the icecast page[1].
can anyone point me in the right direction?

problems with liveice
Hi! I'm running icecast 1.3.11 and liveice under
Mandrake 7.2
Right now I don't have a sound card, but I will. Also
I need to reencode the MP3s that I'm sending to the
icecast server.
I followed the instructions but it doesn't seem to
work, when I first run icecast and after liveice I got
this:
from icecast
Accepted encoder on mountpoint /icy_0 from
localhost.localdomain. 1

alternatives to liveice and darkice
are there any decent alternatives to live audio streaming [via. soundcard]
to darkice or liveice? after a few days fighting with darkice, i finally
managed to bring it up only to see that it takes 55% of my cpu just to
encode one 128kbps stream using libmp3lame. a similar 128kbps stream only
takes up 36% cpu using liveice. maybe i have something configured wrong, but
i was sortof expecting darkice

Lame3.88 has no reencoding.
Because this, I used 3.86... but it needs to copy the libs manualy
to the right places
Why is the Lame/Ices/Icecast documentation so poor ???

I'm running Ices 0.1.0, but the reencoding don't works
with lame3.88. I prefer 3.88, it's more clean, but with the 3.86
that the reencoding works.
About the documentation, I think that a Linux-Icecast-Stream-HOWTO
is a good idea. My english is very poor, to compile the info. If anyone
are interested...

[LLVMdev] Google SOC - Idea
Getting the front end for Fortran finished is definitely something I
would be interested in working on. I will draft up a little proposal
and send it out to this list.

multiple liveice sources
Hi,
I am trying to stream two different sources with two soundcards using
liveice and icecast, all from single Linux box. Can anyone tell me if this
is possible?
I tried creating two sets in the liveice config file where I specified
different devices. No erros but the latter source was streamed on both
mount points. Running two instances of liveice talking to one instance of
icecast failed.

[LLVMdev] Google SOC - Idea
Hi,
Here is a rough draft of the application -- a FORTRAN front-end to
LLVM. In accordance with the summer of code specifications it is split
into two portions: the abstract which describes the project, and the
details description which describes me and how I plan to complete the
project.
It's a little long, (but about half the max length the application
directions specify). Would someone be

problems with liveice
I have installed lame, and its working well,
How to choose CD mode in liveice? I have just seen
with or without live input (soundcard).
Well, I will need to stream live input, from a radio,
what should I use instead of liveice?
what do you recomend me?
Thank you,
Rocael.

ices0 (version 0.3) - libmp3lame.so problems
Hello everybody,
I need some help please. I want to compile the ices-0.3 and ./configure
works perfectly. But if i want to do "make" there appear these
error-messages:
[...]
gcc: /usr/lib/libmp3lame.so: No such file or directory
make[3]: *** [ices] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory '/usr/ices-0.3/src'
[...]
if i search now for the libmp3lame.so file, i find it in /usr/lib/
so
