Problems streaming high bitrate over a LAN
I am trying to stream various 320kbps MP3s across my 10Mbps LAN. Either locally
or across the network, freeamp and xmms prefetch a chunk, then play it, then
fetch another chunk etc. No continuous streaming. shout gets a lot of !s between
its "."s when sending the file to icecast. Any ideas?

question on downsampling
Hi,
Maybe a bit off topic for this list, bt anyway.
I have received several feature requests for DarkIce to support
downsampling of the audio input before passing it to lame or ogg vorbis.
For example the audio read from the soundcard would be 44.1kHz, and lame
would get it at 22.05kHz.
I figure two ways of doing this:
1. For lame, one can specify the input and the desired mp3 sampling

Latest icecast and memory usage
I'm relay-pulling a radio station through the latest icecast, so that I
can play it localy while downsampling it in a VMware box and reshout it
back out. However, every week I do it, icecast seems to grow up to 32
megs large in memory for each process (confirmed by top, it may be shared)
and push almost everything out to swap. I'm using Linux 2.4.3.
Is there a memory leak in

Question for Game Audio Developers?
Can a stereo, or mono, ogg encoded file be looped without the delay/pop you
get when doing so to an MP3 file?
Thanks-Frank

1º. Instalar dos versiones de R en la misma maquina. ¿Como se hace?. Me
estoy metiendo con el PATH y tal... hay algún protocolo clarito por ahí?
2º.

ices2 realplayer
I'm rebroadcasting a realplayer stream and there are two problems.
The icecast2 sounds tinny and its delayed something like 3secs.
Any advice to perhaps use speex as it's talk radio?
Can I cut the delay?
Here is my ices2 config:

eApps Shout Out!
A lot of times I see posts about which hosting providers are great
for Rails. I want to give a shout out to Eapps.com. They have been
my hosting provider for the past 3 years, they have the best tech
support in the hosting business in my opinion. Always willing to
help you out.
All Eapps accounts are VPS (Virtual Private Server) and start at $10
running Cent OS (Redhat) Linux. They

Didn't someone do this and post it to icecast-dev? Or was that something
else? I'm not a perl programmer. I'd just hate to see someone duplicate

icecast and shout
Hello, I have icecast runnig I think.
I made enqripted password with makepasswd -crypt
and then I got pass1 og pass2. As I understand it the pass1 is a uncripted
password and
pass2 encrypted.
I put the pass2 in to the /etc/icecast/icecast.conf and then started it with
icecast -p pass1
Then i put pass2 in to the /etc/icecast/shout.conf
I have tried all variations about having the password
