i was using multiple ports because that's how i figured i'd have to do it. o, mounting the remote source locally? i'm not familiar with how to do this. i'm also not seeing how to do this in the docs. how would i go about mounting a remote stream? -a.j. Why are you using multiple ports at all? That's what mountpoints are for. jack. On Fri, Apr 27, 2001 at 03:36:31PM -0700, A.J. One stream should have a mountpoint of /stream1 or something, and the other of /stream2. Then you access a stream like so: http://my.server.com:8000/stream1 or http://my.server.com:8000/stream2 then in the other icecast server, you just: relay pull http://my.server.com:8000/stream1 relay pull http://my.server.com:8000/stream2 that should work. jack. Would there be a way to have /stream1 and /stream2 be the same content but encoded at differant bitrates (via iceS)? thanks, paul On Fri, 27 Apr 2001, Jack Moffitt wrote: > One stream should have a mountpoint of /stream1 or something, and the > other of /stream2. > > Then you access a stream like so: > > http://my.server.com:8000/stream1 > or >

Merge done
The merge of the format changes and new psychoacoustics is complete. There's still tuning work left to do (most notably there's a somewhat higher-than-acceptable level of background low-midrange/upper bass noise; this is due mostly to incomplete psychoacoustic modelling data in the 100Hz-500Hz range) however, at this point, pending bugfixes, the Vorbis 1.0 stream format is frozen.

Create variables with common values for each group
Dear all, sorry, this is for sure really basic, but I searched a lot in the internet, and just couldn't find a solution. The problem is to create new variables from a data frame which contains both individual and group variables, such as mean age for an household. My data frame: df hhid h.age 1 10010020 23 2 10010020 23 3 10010126 42 4 10010126 60 5 10010142

System is computationally singular and scale of covariates
Dear all, I'm running a self-written numerical optimization routine (hazard model) which includes computing the inverse of the outer product of the score. I have been getting the above error message ("System is computationally singular"), and after some tweaking, I realized that these variables have some high numbers and the problem could be circumvented by scaling them down (i.e.

factor analysis (pca): how to get the 'communalities'?
Dear expe-R-ts, I try some test data for a factorAnalysis (resp. pca) in the sense of Prof. Ripley's MASS ? 11.1, p. 330 ff., just to prepare myself for an analysis of my own empirical data using R (instead of SPSS). 1. the data. ## The test data is (from the book of Backhaus et al.: Multivariate ## Analysemethoden. Using by() and stacking back sub-data frames to one data frame
Dear all, I have a code where I subset a data frame to match entries within levels of an factor (actually, the full script uses three difference factors do do that). I'm very happy with the precision with which I can work with R, but since I loop over factor levels, and the data frame is big, the process is slow. So I've been trying to speed up the process using by(), but I got stuck at

Using apply to generate matrix from rows?
Dear all, I have a simple question which I unfortunately do not seem to be able to solve myself. I have a (NxK) matrix and want to generate a new matrix by multiplying each row with itself such that the new matrix has dimension ((N*K)xK) (or better, generate an array with dimension (K,K,N)). I tried apply, but that did not work. Any suggestions? Thanks! Stephan ## Here is a simple

conditions simpler way
Dear All, I have a MCMC result in x1. I was wondering if there is a simpler, more elegant way of evaluating the estimate of an integral then this (I am pretty sure there is): Also if I want to count the x's say -1<x<2 but not the ones in the burn in period. [code] z <- -2 burnin <- 2000 int1 <-

tapply and any
Dear all, A quick question which I somehow cannto figure out: I want to apply the function "any" to subsets of a dataset in order to create a vector with TRUE/FALSE values, depending on whether a subset has the number 5. I.e., y <- matrix(c(1,2,3,3,4,5,5,6,6,7,5,1,1,3,5,NA,5,1,1,3),ncol=2) > y [,1] [,2] [1,] 1 5 [2,] 2 1 [3,] 3 1 [4,] 3 3 [5,]

MCMCpack combining chains
Deal all, as MCMClogit does not allow for the specification of several chains, I have run my model 3 times with different random number seeds and differently dispersed multivariate normal priors. For example: res1 = MCMClogit(y~x,b0=0,B0=0.001,data=mydat, burnin=500, mcmc=5500, seed=1234, thin=5) res2 = MCMClogit(y~x,b0=1,B0=0.01,data=mydat, burnin=500, mcmc=5500, seed=5678, thin=5) res3 =

Plotting averages of y per x
Hello! I often plot average of y instead of all y values, since one can easily see the trend if there is to many points and/or x might be like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ... and you might get a cloud (which can also be informative) and/or columns of points. Anyway, learning with R i get stucked. I have the data in table burnins1, with the following names: names(burnins1) [1] "Model"

About: Error in FUN(X[[1]], ...) : symbol print-name too long
Hi, I??m trying to use the Win2BUGS package from R and I have a similar problem that reurns with the message: Error in FUN(X[[1]], ...) : symbol print-name too long But, there is no stray ` character in the file ( Sugestions given by: Duncan Temple Lang <duncan> Date: Mon, 26 Sep 2005 07:31:08 -0700 ) The progam in R is: library(R2WinBUGS) library(rbugs) dat <-

Mac OS X canonically decomposed UTF-16 filenames
Hi. I'd like to find some way for Samba to convert the filenames created by Macintosh OS X into something windows can use. According to their docs: http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/macosx/Essentials/SystemOverview/FileSystem/chapter_9_section_13.html filenames are stored as canonically decomposed Unicode 2.1 in UTF-16 format (a sequence of 16-bit codes) Samba running on a

Speakeasy VOIP + Asterisk?
Has anyone tried getting Speakeasy VOIP to work with Asterisk? I just got Speakeasy DSL and am thinking of trying out their VOIP [1] with the hope that the quality/stability will be better than broadvoice. I searched in the usual places (voip-info.org, the asterisk users mailing list archives [2], dslreports.com) and couldn't find anything. Any other places I should look? Thanks, Simon

WinBUGS with R
Dear Users, I am new to both of things, so do not blame me too much... I am busy with semiparametric regression and use WinBUGS to sample posteriors. The code to call Winbugs is as follows: data <- list("y","X","n","m") #My variables inits.beta <- rep(0,K) inits.beta0 <- 0 inits <-

about MCMC pack
Hello, I tryed to use the MCMC pack, particularly the function MCMCirtKd to simulate the posterior distribution in a multidimensional IRT model. The code I used is: posterior1 <- MCMCirtKd(Y, dimensions=2, item.constraints=list("V2"=list(3,0)), burnin = 1000, mcmc = 10000, thin=1, verbose = 1, seed = NA, alphabeta.start = NA, b0 = 0, B0=0, store.item = FALSE,
