ices 0.3 seg fault
Please try a stable version of LAME. I don't really know what to do with this backtrace. It would also help immensely if you could reproduce the crash reliably (eg on the same song). using Frauenhofer mp3 codec
I tried to use the Frauenhofer mp3 codec and I thought I succeeded when removing winemp3 from the registry. But the entry gets created again the next time wine starts.... so how do I use the Frauenhofer codec instead of the winemp3.acm.so. The only way I found till now is by removing/renaming that file. That can't be the right way. So what is the right way to do that? As for why I want

Error when installing Star Wars: The Phantom Menace
I am running Ubuntu 11.04 with wine 1.3.20. I am trying to install the Phantom Menace. The menu pops up to install, and takes me to the setup. When the setup loads, an error pops up: Severe: get prof failed! The setup continues like normal, but then when actually installing the files, another error pops up: Severe: file set execute failed. The progress bar jumps straight to 100%, then about 8

Anyone noticed slow rendering performance with formhelpers?
It seems like the form helpers, such as "link_to" and "check_box" really slows down rendering when you have hundreds of rows. Has anyone else noticed this?? Is there a way to go around it apart from typing the raw html? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

tcltk capability
There are quite a few packages that make use of tcltk and although - most R distributions have tcltk capability - its possible to query this via capabilities()[["tcltk"]] - attempting to build a package that needs it on such an R distribution will give a message letting one know users still seem to have problems with this. There was recently an R bug report submitted that likely

Europa Universalis 2 crash (Ubuntu 8.04 Wine 1.1.10)
According to the AppDB EU2 1.09 has a platinum rating, but it's constantly crashing on me. I installed the game from the CD, updated to the latest version (1.09), and the game launches just fine. When it gets into the menu I notice that it's running a lot slower than it should be. I can start a single player game and it still runs slow, and then crashes. It doesn't matter what I do in

ATA tag queuing broken...
Alright, well it's apparently no surprise to folks that ATA tag queuing is broken at the moment. Are there any objections to me adding a few cautious words to ata(4) and tuning(7) that advise _against_ the use of ata tag queuing given that they're likely the fastest way to reboot a -STABLE box? Here's a PR that I tacked a tad bit of info into:

Error with mongrel_rails start
When I make an empty Rails web application, and go through the steps to create/include a database, and scaffold, mongrel_rails start (or ruby script/server) works just fine. However, I attempted this with a pre-existing web app and I got some errors. First, I gathered the app''s folder (checked the contents, it has all the folders plus one extra: components) and placed it under ruby/

[LLVMdev] [RFC] "noclone" function attribute
I definitely support this. In fact we were about to send a very similar proposal. The main difference I can see between this proposal and ours was that we named the attribute "noduplicate". I graciously defer to James on the bikeshade color issue. Michael -----Original Message----- From: llvmdev-bounces at cs.uiuc.edu [mailto:llvmdev-bounces at cs.uiuc.edu] On Behalf Of James Molloy

[LLVMdev] [RFC] "noclone" function attribute
Hi, OpenCL has a "barrier" function with very specific semantics, and there is currently no analogue to model this in LLVM. This has been touched on by the SPIR folks but I don't believe they put forward a proposal. The barrier function is a special function that ensures that all workitems executing a kernel have executed up to that point before execution on any workitem can
