problems using samba as PDC
Hi list,
We are in the process of replacing our current Windows 2k file server with a
Debian Linux one running Samba.
I am running Samba 2.999+3.0.Alpha21 which is packaged for Debian in the
Unstable tree.
I believe I have configured everything correctly however when I login from a
Windows client it is creating the users profile under there home directory
rather than in the profile directory

msan test failures
I'm seeing some test failures for unit tests for msan (check-msan)
happening in googletest, which I find weird. I'm on Arch Linux, with
r342711. Below is one type of error that I see. The full log is 416MB (!)
big. My guess is that those errors are related, but if anyone needs the
full log, I'll provide it. Here is a reduced log from the end:

index location
Greetings.
We are testing with 1.2.9 and have found that with
mail_full_filesystem_access set to 'yes', we cannot force indexes for
folders under ~/mail to be stored in /var/dovecot/indexes/%u.
/var/dovecot/indexes/%u/.imap/INBOX/dovecot.index* is created just fine,
but everything else ends up in ~mail/.imap.
If I change mail_full_filesystem_access to 'no', then all indexes

user-group mapping not inherited from Windows-Domain?
Dear
I have the following Problem:
we have a windows domain (WIN2000 SP1), and a samba Server, acting as a
mere client. So the WIN-DOMAIN is just used for user-to-group mapping
and user authentification.
Authentication on the samba-Server works, ACL inheritance works.
What I would like to do, is to allow write access to ceratin groups,
wich are defined in the windows domain. Other groups may

[LLVMdev] Building lld with Visual Studio 2012 RC
OK thanks a lot Michael Spencer!
After getting your latest commit now everything compiles on Visual Studio
2012 RC. I'm just playing around to learn.
Maybe this is the funniest place to start assessing my possibilities of
contributing to llvm in the free time:
Writer* createWriterPECOFF(const WriterOptionsPECOFF &options) {

Odd icecast hiccup problem with low-bandwidth cellular client
Here's a very odd question - I don't know if anybody can even begin to
answer.
I am attempting something very odd and geeky. I set up an icecast Win32
server streaming a 96kbps mp3 stream (using all the latest as of today
software, winamp, icecast2 and oddcast v3) so I can listen to it on my cell
phone while at work.
My phone does GPRS EDGE data at 131kbps-ish, just barely fast enough to

compute probabilities on a Bayesian Network
Deal R Users,
I'm trying to find out how can I compute probabilities on a Bayesian
Network using R. The Bayesian Network I modelled is shown at
http://www.dsr.inpe.br/~mello/1727/BNgrapmodel.png and I'd like to know
how can I proceed (commands on R) to answer questions like: (1) what is
the probability of S=T given C=T, L=T, R=F, H=F and D=F; or (2) what is
the probability of S=T

How can I include a new book on the "Books" link at R-project.org ?
I've just published a new book for R beginners in Portuguese:
"Conhecendo o R: uma vis?o estat?stica" (something like "Knowing R: an
statistical approach"). I'd like to include it on the list "Books" at
R-project.org. How can I do it?

lots of icecast help needed
Hi, I've been running Icecast on my server for over five months now and am
having lots of problems with it. I must have pulled out half of my hair on
this product, mostly due to lack of support. (I mean, have you ever gotten
an answer to your question at icecast.org?) I've tried it all: sc_serv,
Icecast, shout, ices, streamcast, liveice. I could greatly use any help.
I am using the

Problem with compiling shared C/C++ library for loading into R (Linux)
I am using the .Call interface to call c++ code from R. For that, I am
trying to create a dynamic library (mylib.so)
using "R CMD SHLIB" by linking my own c++ code and an external c++
library (blitz++).
The makefile works fine on my Mac, produces mylib.so and I am able to
call .Call() from R, but on a linux
server (I think Debian), I got the following error:

Any and all attempts to connect to our samba server, packaged in the
redhat RPM found on samba.org, have failed. The allow statement is
set to localhost, x.y.z. where x.y.z is our class C(ended with a

smbclient work beautifully, but connections from any other machine

Dynamic playlist support
Hello everyone,
Just curious if ices supports dynamic playlists... I would like to
generate one on the fly based on user requests etc. I'm startnig to go
through icedj's source code to see how they use shout.
I'd just use that, but I'm having trouble with shout.
Thanks,
