yp.icecast.org || when does your stream come into the db?
Hi: IIRC, the oddcast DSP plugin (http://www.oddsock.org) will allow mountpoints (or at least oddsock said it would soon). Samcast apparently already does, but I forget the URL for this (it's in the list archive somewhere). These are winamp DSP plugins. Winamp v5.22 / oddcast / aac+
I'm not sure if this is an icecast issue or oddcast issue or both, but the latest Winamp (v5.22) is not now playing AAC+ streams encoded with Oddcast. Winamp v5.21 and earlier versions work fine. This may be some attempt by Winamp developers to force people to use Shoutcast, or to prevent oddcast from using their enc_aacplus.dll. Right, just took some time to set up the Shoutcast DSP to

Winamp v5.22 / oddcast / aac+
I believe that Oddsock is using a Content Type of aacp. Using a .aac extension with this Content Type may present a conflict. This might actually be by design. I will do some further testing with Winamp and report here tomorrow. I will also double-check with the developer of Winamp for complete clarification. FYI, Orban Opticodec-PC allows the use of either Content Type of aac or aacp. aac is

DarkIce make problems
Hi everybody I'm trying to encode the soundcard signal to serve it with IceCast, but I'm having problems with making darkice-0.11. Anybody could help? I'm compiling in a Solaris 6 OS with gcc 2.8.1, and I've installed lame and Vorbis libraries. This is my config phrase: ./configure --prefix=/aplicacions/icecast-1.3.12/darkice --with-lame --with-vorbis

Can't connect winamp source to icecast server
Gidday, I have a winamp 2.95 source that cannot upload the stream to my icecast server. Since icecast is compatible with shoutcast surely a winamp source should be able to connect? any help appreciated, Greg My icecast.xml follows: <icecast> <limits> <clients>100</clients> <sources>2</sources>

also, keep in mind that support for streaming song titles is also a function of the source client you use.... I've been very successful with use_meta_data=1 and using either my DSP source (oddcast) or the Shoutcast DSP source.... and you can always know for sure if song titles are supported on your server by looking at the HTTP response headers from a request of the stream, (your request

A mountpiont is a fragment of a URL (often referred to as a URI) like '/stream1' or '/my_cool_stuff/stream.ogg' You tell shout, ices, or whatever what mountpoint to use.

icecast2, ogg, mp3, etc
Hi, Just wanted to clarify, can icecast2 not read OR broadcast any mp3, or can it just not broadcast mp3 (but still play from a playlist)? I know the quality would be dropped if it had to reencode them though. And what's up with that POS Winamp3, it doesn't even play gg streams?!? I use xmms, but we have winamp3 on a demo computer, it just sits and keeps prebuffering. I need something

how to direct the sreams to mount points
Not sure where the right place to post this is, so I figure here is as good as any... How do I tell the ShoutCast plugin for Winamp which icecast mount point to stream to? What I would really like is to have my local mp3 list randomly play 24/7, and when a lecture is going on, stream the voice an have that be the default stream. I don't really care if the music keeps playing, I just want

I've searched the archives on xiph and elsewhere in hopes of finding an answer on whether song titles will work. There seems to be no definitive answer. use_meta_data 1 DOES work for WinAmp 2.75 but nothing else I've tried (which includes the latest WinAmp and Sonique). Also, I can get some header by telnetting into my port (see below) but still the "meta_data" issue remains a

OddcastDSP/Winamp2
Sorry for the long rave. I write Windows software for broadcasters (Radio & Internet) and in a newsletter I send out to my streaming clients I was recommending Ogg Vorbis/IceCast2 as the streaming solution for the future. All of my clients are using Windows and a lot of them are using Winamp2 for their broadcasting. Currently they would be forced to use the OddCastDSP. One client who should

Where do I get oddcast at? I did a search on winamp.com and nothing and I did a google group lookup to see if anyone was talking about it and I got back everything but what I was looking for. Oddcast not working with WinAmp 5.01
I recently reformatted & reinstalled Windows98. Oddly, only now after a fresh re-install has Oddcast been behaving badly with WinAmp 5.01. It shows up in the DSP catagory as a mirror of the previous plugin, plus "[dsp_oddcast_v2.dll]". I know Oddcast isn't configurable by the WinAmp Configure Plugin button, but it shouldn't give this message when I try:
