format of http stream?
I am streaming ogg via inetd. Basically, I am outputing like: oggenc -Q -b 1 -o - /some/wave/file.wav This works fine with ogg123 (other than that I want the bit rate to be lower than 55-100 range that it is doing). I am using: Ogg123 from vorbis-tools 1.0rc2 OggEnc v0.8 (libvorbis rc2) But, FreeAmp for Windows slowly buffered up to 100% then said "Skipped Corrupted File". And

Freeamp output plug-in
Hello: I don't usually post requests like this to mailing lists, but I've just about run out of other options. The vorbis.org and vorbis.com sites both make mention of a beta vorbis output plug-in for freeamp, but I'm blowed if I can find it anywhere. It's definitely not in the vorbis.com download section (unless it's been placed their within the last 24 hours or so), and

Hello
Hi, I am interested in helping out with the project. What tasks are on the TODO list? I am one of the lead developers of the FreeAmp (www.freeamp.org) project so obviously I will create a decoder plugin for our player but I would also like to help out with the Vorbis CODEC itself. elrod --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/

UTF-8 to ISO 8859-1 converter
I've got a bug pending for FreeAmp right now where the vorbis metadata plugin does not handle international characters right. The comments that are returned from vorbis_comment_query() are in UTF-8, but FreeAmp is ISO 8859-1. I've been looking for a UTF-8 --> ISO 8859-1 converter that is available for inclusion in a GPL/LGPL program and is reasonably small. There are many full blown

Library issues (BOUNCE vorbis-dev@xiph.org: Non-member submission from [rob@emusic.com]) (fwd)
BTW, I need a volunteer to upgrade xiph.org to MailMan or the like. I'm officially sick to death of majordomo. (Or, if you want to code all the features I want in majordomo, that's fine too ;-) I'm a little bit out of time, see.... ------- Forwarded Message Sender: robert@emusic.com I just brought the FreeAmp codebase up to speed with the latest Vorbis source. Problems with xmms & freeamp
Hi all, I've just set up a test icecast2 server (download and compiled from cvs about an hour ago) - very simple setup, all it does is use ices to stream in an .ogg file that I converted from an mp3, using mpg123 & oggenc. (I've used the sample conf files with the directory stuff removed. I've also tried it with and without the re-encoding lines from the ices-playlist.xml file).

missing def file in vorbis win32 build stuff
I was just trying to build the shared lib stuff and include it into RC4 of FreeAmp 2.1 today, but I found that the .def file for the vorbis build stuff is missing and therefore no .lib file is generated. Is there a reason for that, or is it just an omission? In any case, I will hold off on the latest and greatest vorbis stuff in FreeAmp until next week.... --ruaok Freezerburn! All else

icecast 2.0 semi-permanent test stream
Icecast 2.0 and Ices 2.0 are both fairly usable now. I have set up a semi-permanent test stream for people to bang on at: http://i.cantcode.com:8888/ices.ogg Please report any problems you have. I say semi-permanent, because it will probably crash now and then, and I will be developing and putting up the new versions on a regular basis. If it stops working for more than an hour, somethings

Fw: CD Ripper Beta Software: RipTrax
RipTrax has just been modified to include support to OGG output file format (Ogg Vorbis); including comment fields for pertinent track/album information. You can download the latest version from this link: http://web2.airmail.net/jlundy/riptrax.htm If you are lacking a respectable playback tool for OGG files, try FreeAmp at: http://www.freeamp.org/ All feedback is welcome (please go easy on

OGG not working in Windows?
I ripped (CDDA2WAV) and encoded (OGGENC) OGG files on my Linux box using GRIP. The OGG files play fine in my XMMS on my Linux box. These are all from brand new lib (rc2) compiles. But no matter what I try, FreeAmp or Winamp (w/ plugin), they do nothing on my Windows boxes. Anyone? Thanks. --EdB <edb@earthling.net> http://www.geocities.com/endered --- >8 ---- List archives:

Vorbis stream up now
Greetings: If you're using the latest XMMS (CVS preferably), FreeAmp, Sonique (?), or ogg123 (maybe), please check out this URL for a Vorbis playlist stream: http://64.108.112.34:8000/shouter.ogg The playlist is lengthy, and I've set it to repeat three times, so it will be on-line for a while. Please let me know how well or badly the stream was received, thanks. Best

Ogg Media Player
What is the best (preferable open source) media player for oggs? I'm on windows, and Windows Media Player is the best thing I can seem to find. I've looked at WinAmp, QCD, Sonique, and FreeAmp, and they just don't seem to have the media library functionality WMP has. Is there another player out there I'm missing? Chris

Low-bitrate-compatible vorbis decoder/player?
Hi list, I'm doing some experiments with relatively low bitrate encoding, and can't find a player/decoder that works consistently. Winamp and freeamp seem to choke up when you try to play low-bitrate vorbis files. There's mention of an ogg123 player/decoder, but it doesn't seem to be includeed with the vorbis-tools package as advertised. (Does anyone know where it is? Is

Problems streaming high bitrate over a LAN
I am trying to stream various 320kbps MP3s across my 10Mbps LAN. Either locally or across the network, freeamp and xmms prefetch a chunk, then play it, then fetch another chunk etc. No continuous streaming. shout gets a lot of !s between its "."s when sending the file to icecast. Any ideas? -- Always hardwire the explosives -- Fiona Dexter quoting Monkey, J. Gregory Keyes, Dark

ices, name of current song
hi probably a simple question, but what commandline switch on ices will make freeamp/winamp display the name of the currently playing SONG? -n seems to name the stream, which is useful, but i'd realy like the display to be the sing, no the stream...? thx --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To unsubscribe from this
