my icecast problem
Quick question?
Is there a way to observe the TCP/IP block numbers produced by a client
connected to a server that is not getting data fast enough or too fast in
icecast while it happens in real time? I suppose you might be able to do
this with a sniffer of some sort but I am just wondering about the accuracy
of the results. Having access to this information in real time would help
with trouble

my icecast problem
Hi,
I've managed to capture some output from the log tail using debug level
4. I couldn't capture it from the beginning, and it seems the debug info
isn't sent to the log file (is there a way to do that ?)
Here's a snippet of the log being repeated a lot of times during the few
seconds that I notice the stutter :

i think i've nailed this down. the problem is if the icecast server
starts in the middle of a song already being sourced to it. (which you
can get by starting icecast, start ices, then shutdown and restart

Submission: Patch to libshout/sock.c for MacOSX
Hi,
re libshout:
MacOSX doesn't have poll(), which prevents sock.c from
compiling. I've patched sock.c to use select(), which is
supported on MacOSX, and should be elsewhere too.
I've marked my changes with "SKoT" comments in the file below.
Main changes are in sock_write_bytes().

Switching to git (Windows experience) (was re:[cfe-dev] GitHub anyone?)
One of the things that may taint my prior analysis...
At the time I was last evaluating Windows git GUIs, I was looking for
something that would make handling .patch and .diff files easier. In
particular, if a patch didn't apply, I really wanted to get some visual
indication of which hunk failed, and some interface to resolve the
conflict. I didn't find any tools that handled that

BUG: warning at kernel/softirq.c:141
Hello ext3-users,
we have an oopsy situation here:
we have 4 machines: 3 client nodes, 1 master: the master holds a fairly
big repository of small files. The repo's current size is ~40GB
with ~1.2 M files in ~100 directories. Now, we like to rsync changes
from the master to the client nodes, which is working perfectly for 2
nodes, but our 3rd node oopses "sometimes", rendering

Switching to git (Windows experience) (was re:[cfe-dev] GitHub anyone?)
Sourcetree is pretty good on windows, and I hear ok things about Git Extensions. I have not used the GitHub app though.
I typically use Sourcetree to view the logs, and command line for everything else.

problem compiling pigeonhole + my fix
hello,
yesterday I tried to package dovecot-2.0beta5 + pigeonhole from Mercurial repository.
I put pigeonhole as a subdir in the dovecot sourcetree.
Following http://hg.rename-it.nl/dovecot-2.0-pigeonhole/raw-file/tip/INSTALL
I called ./autogen.sh; ./configure --with-dovecot=..; make
In the buildprocess I saw this output ( from autogen.sh ):
Putting files in AC_CONFIG_AUX_DIR, `..'.

[LLVMdev] sys::MemoryFence() using __sync_synchronize() with GCC on ARM does not generate a memory fence
Andrew Haley brought up this interesting issue on the GCC mailing-list
that directly affect the stability of the ARM llvm target when using
multi-threading.
http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2009-08/msg00600.html
basically using __sync_synchronize() with GCC on ARM does not generate
any code for the fence.
For what I know:
The only working fix for this issue on Linux would be to create a call

Samba VFS - suggestions
hi,
i'm tried to setup a samba-server with ACL support.
i realized that this is still not what Users might look for.
here are some things that are anoying:
- POSIX-ACLs only support rwx
- a user, group or everybody with the rights rwx seem to have "Full
Access" (in the Windows-Explore) although "Full Access" includes the
ability to change the ACL - but this is only

Oops in iput
Hi,
oops in iput - Kernel 2.2.19/i386 + ide-udma patches + ext3 patches (0.0.7a)
Intel BX chipset, SCSI Disks Symbios chipset - The crashing process
is the master process of "postfix" an MTA.
Just before the crash all processes on that machine started to segfault
in nameserver resolution (remote dns server) and after 2-3 minutes
this oops happened.
ksymoops 2.3.4 on i686 2.2.19.
