Ahah! I knew I was not the only person who has experienced this with winamp. The problem here is winamp 2.7. It seems that when I tuned into my shoutcast servers (when I ran shoutcast) with winamp 2.7 the longest period I could hold a stream was a little more then an hour. I am pretty sure that the integrity of my mp3's is okay. I know that music match shreds the mp3 data and produces mp3 files that are not ISO compliant. I always use WaveLab and the radium codec to encode my sets and enable the ISO compatibility option at all times. Hi, does anybody set up an icecast server delivering streams > 160KBit/s ? I tried that with liveice and shout but in both cases the stream stutters very much. So, I have eliminated the Net (stream to localhost), the CPU (P3/800 should be fast enough), and lame (can encode 320kBit/s 3 times faster then the wav has secs). So the Problem should be icecast. can anybody please enlight me?

OK, I found LAME's web site and installed it using the source for it. That appears to work. I also found a couple of libxml... packages and either replaced the existing ones and added a few others. That went without problem. However the same problem exists. I found that the lame.h file is in a directory of /root/lame3.70 Perhaps the make can't find it at this directory? IS there

Hey, Sesse asked me to do a patch to the auto* set-up to allow for FLAC to be added. The patch touches configure.in and oggenc/Makefile.am It is disabled by default, use --enable-flac as an arg to configure to enable it. I am streaming ogg via inetd. Basically, I am outputing like: oggenc -Q -b 1 -o - /some/wave/file.wav This works fine with ogg123 (other than that I want the bit rate to be lower than 55-100 range that it is doing). I am using: Ogg123 from vorbis-tools 1.0rc2 OggEnc v0.8 (libvorbis rc2) But, FreeAmp for Windows slowly buffered up to 100% then said "Skipped Corrupted File". And

What is the best (preferable open source) media player for oggs? I'm on windows, and Windows Media Player is the best thing I can seem to find.
