Hi, I'm looking for an audio player with native support for flac embedded pictures. I use Amarok (http://amarok.kde.org/) in linux, but I can't find any player in Windows that has this same native support for embedded flac pictures. Hey i've recently written some directshow filters for ogg vorbis and speex (www.illiminable.com/ogg/) and i thought i might add flac too... i've had a quick look at the C++ api and it appears that the decoding works by having a read callback to get it's data. In directshow everything is pushed into the decoder it can't ask for data when it wants... i'm just wondering if there

If i could find some good documentation on quicktime, i'd probably give it a shot... since i already have most of the infrastructure already for directshow. I had a look a few times for detailed info on quicktime, and it all looked pretty painful. Not to mention all the base media handler code provided for the sdk, says not suitable for bitrates greater than like 32kpbs which is useless

there something fishy going on, have about 21 flac files, in a folder, and 9 of them still showing meta tag data in juk. When running metaflac --list, show nothing on all 21 files, however in amarok and juk I can still see some info on 9 flac files. I've been having problems with Amarok and K3B, but I think it comes down to a problem with flac. All my music and audio files are encoded in flac format. I've ripped my CDs using KAudioCreator and using this command to encode them (split for formatting): flac --best -o %o --tag=Artist=%{artist} --tag=Album=%{albumtitle} --tag=Date=%{year} --tag=Title=%{title}

Thanks Christian. Now I can play my FLAC files with WiMP. I uninstalled the illuminable package and then installed the Matroska. The result was the opposite that I got for the illuminable: the illuminable package registered the types but WiMP couldn't find the codecs, the Matroska didn't register the types but it did make the codecs available. This is much preferable of course

I have been developing some directshow filters for ogg, and vorbis and speex... currently i have an ogg demux filter and a speex/vorbis decoding filter. In this pre-release only vorbis is operational... but the speex decoder is pretty much done... i jsut need to tweak the demux filter so that it can negotiate a speex connection with the other filter. Just though some people might find them useful

hi, Can anybody tell me what the maximum filesize is for an image file to be included in a FLAC file? However, I've never done any programming with a codec, and I still can't see how to step into Ogg Vorbis. If I convert all my wav files to ogg, there seem to be two major issues I'm facing: 1) What exactly will I replace my waveOut functions with? 2)

I have exactly the same problem. I encoded a BWF file to flac and then then decoded back to wav, using --keep-foreign-metadata, and I ended up with a bit-perfect copy of the original BWF. So I was fairly confident that the flac encoding is working correctly, the problem definitely appears to be with the flac players. Unfortunately it seems that the majority of flac players cannot play 24bit
