RE: Converting to 1.1.4, help please!
I remember that thread but I can't remember if that command is exactly what you want. everyone has little differences in their situation that makes a general solution hard. this list is not really the place for shell tutorial, I highly recommend this book: http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/bash3/ and if you're on windows, install http://cygwin.com/ otherwise, I think this comes up a lot on

RE: Converting to 1.1.4, help please!
My FLAC files reside on my Infrant NV (XRAID) and are also backed up on my PC and on an external USB HDD. That makes 3 copies. I've read most everything on the FLAC site, but as I have mentioned I don't know much about structuring a command line. My PC is also quite old (early P4 from 2000 w/256MB RAM) so I think it will take a LOT of time for this to run through over 1200 CDs worth of

Re: Converting to 1.1.4, help please!
Sorry I can't be of more help. You are at a significant disadvantage by operating on a PC. Of all the systems which can run flac, the PC is going to have the most crippled command line abilities. You could look at installing a shell which would handle wildcards ... or you could look into some of those batch files that you've found. I'm just pointing out that not everyone

Flac 1.1.4 decoding time increase

flac error with some aiff files?
flac.exe is choking on some aiff files as input with the following: "ERROR: SSND chunk size inconsistent with sample frame count" According to Daren on the dBpoweramp forum "The flac.exe program ignores the amount of data bytes quoted in the SSND chunk and tries to read to the end of the file, which would be fine if the SSND data was the last data in the file. The problem is

Documentation on Displaying Quotas
Hi John (and others on the list) Can I suggest that you add some information to the new Samba docs explaining how to make Linux (or I suppose other Unix) group quotas be reflected in My Computer and/or Explorer when a Windows user accesses a share that is supposed to controlled by a quota? Here was my particular situation this past week. I was setting quotas based on Linux groups. Each

Writing files > 2GB from Windows
Can anybody explain why SOME Windows XP applications have trouble writing files larger than 2 GB (or sometimes larger than 4 GB) to Linux Samba shares, when OTHER Windows applications on the same machine do not have difficulty writing large files to the same Samba share? And when the underlying Linux filesystem supports very large files? I have sometimes even found that a SINGLE Windows

OT: Replacing Venerable NAS
We're using Synology boxes with good results so far. They're built on Linux with ssh access and good support for things like rsync. They have options to backup to remote servers including Amazon too. using rsync 3.0.0 CVS version
Hi, I've wanted to start working with this CVS version cuz the new "incremental-recursion algorithm" is just what I need. But ran into a problem... When I start the rsync, either with the rsync protocol or rsh, i found that it'll start doing the rsync and just halt after a few hundred MBs or even up to a couple GBs. I was never able to finish an rsync. Anyone else had this

Idea to possibly improve flac?
I might be able to look into this soon, I actually got my mother a squeezebox boom for xmas, but I have no experience with the device, other than initial set up and hearing it go. My choice of the word "useless" was deliberate to get folks rawled up, and it worked! :D It doesn't make it entirely useless, just unreliable and inconsistent. If they are using the code from the main flac

mp3 stream relay without reen-/transcoding (SLIMP3)
I have a problem that I hope perhaps someone could help me with. I want to relay an mp3 stream (bitrate switching, metadata containing) from an url like http://192.168.0.123:8000/stream.mp3 and serve it to multiple listeners (Winamp clients) using Win32 environment for the relay machine. The original stream is being served by the (free!) SLIMP3 Server software

Re: libvirt-lxc driver on armv7l
Oh, sorry. I try to build libvirt on Tizen, with gbs. Unfortunately Tizen doesn't have the packages from the "snip list of rpms":) I tried to install dependencies from http://ftp.pbone.net/pub/fedora/linux/development/20/armhfp/os/Packages/ but that just doesn't work...
