Hi, hi, hi little droogies First of all, sorry for the lame english and the dumb question. After a quick search on google I found iconv, and some other toys, but the point is: I''m making a small webmail app for my company, still taking the first steps. For instance, if I want to read my INBOX folder and list the messages: ------------------------------------------- CONTROLLER =>

Hi, With Apache one may use "mod_deflate" in order to reduce bandwidth by using e.g. gzip to compress the http traffic. I would like to use something similar for email traffic between mail clients to dovecote and postfix. My questions are: a) Is this established well enough in most mail clients? b) Can you recomment a good tutorial for this? Thank you very much

Thank you for your quick feedback. I added it to my plugins in the config. How can I make sure my mailclients are using it? Is there a way to check this like I can check headers with additional Firefox plug-in you may recomment? VirtualDub and enconding with DivX, XviD
Hello, I am trying to get the latest wine (Wine 20030219, fake windows) working with the GordianKnot (0.27). Unfortunately, Virtual Dub is not be able to compress a avs-file with the DivX-codec. It crashes if trying to. Also, it would be nice to compress an mpeg-source with Xvid but also it crashes. BTW, VirtualDub does not list it in its codecs window ?f "msvfw32" is set to

Dovecot ontop of glusterfs issue.
Hey, I am testing Glusterfs as a storage backend for dovecot as a LDA and imap server. I have seen similar lines in the logs to these: May 21 10:46:01 mailgw dovecot: imap(eliezer at ngtech.co.il): Warning: Created dotlock file's timestamp is different than current time (1400658105 vs 1400658361): /home/vmail/ngtech.co.il/eliezer/Maildir/.Mailing_lists.ceph_users/dovecot-uidlist May 21

Sieve users script problem.
I am using Dovecot 2.1.9 which seems to solve older bug in sieve. Now I have another problem with users scripts. I want dovecot to run users scripts but it seems to not even see them. Dovecot runs the default sieve script from home dir but wont see the sieve scripts in the sieve subdirectory and some logs: Nov 10 18:35:54 lda(user at domain.local): Debug: Quota root: name=User quota

I want to connect to a l2tp server from centos.
OK So i took the time and finally built a RPM for the softether vpn server and client. I have not tested them for usage but I found out that only the server side can work with multiple protocols while the client side works only with one protocol. The actual protocol is called "ethernet overl HTTPS". More info on the product: http://www.softether.org/ The gui is only for windows as

CDex and Flac
I am using CDex to encode my music into Flac. I am using the latest version of Flac (with the frontend etc.) and sending the rips to it as an 'external encoder' with the string: -8 -o %2 -T "artist=%a" -T "title=%t" -T "album=%b" -T "date=%y" -T "tracknumber=%tn" -T "genre=%g" - However, I am getting the below output/error with

[Flac-users] CD archival best practices?
Goals: 1. Store meta data 2. Be able to recreate and burn bit-for-bit accurate audio CDs from archive. 3. Be able to "generate" lossy format files (OggVorbis,MP3,etc) with meta info intact when needed. 4. One file per song. 5. Files playable in XMMS and WinAMP3. Questions: Q1. OGG vs FLAC container? Q2. Meta data format? Q3. In detail, how does one do goal 2? Q4. What ripping/encoding

I want to connect to a l2tp server from centos.
Hey Gordon, I do not have any security issue in this network. I need to connect to a remote network on a secure network. The options are pptp or l2tp(no ipsec encryption) so I do want to use l2tp like in (lac\lns) and I am looking for a client for CentOS. Note that it works in ubuntu so it is possible to achieve the same with CentOS but I do not know what is behind the gui that initiates the
