Updating flac include problems
Lateral to Matt,
Matt, can you refresh my memory... I vaguely remember you
mentioning that my OUR_CFLAGS_HEAD/OUR_CFLAGS_TAIL change
to configure.in messed up debianization because it put
local includes at the head... am I remembering right? Is
there a way to resolve that problem *and* Ben's?

does smbmount use keepalive and/or smb.conf?
Greetings,
I don't know how common an issue this is as I haven't
found much in the list archives that was helpful to
me, so I'm hoping for some pointers.
FYI, we have samba 2.3.3a-6 running on the 2.4.18-10
kernel.
There seems to be an issue with smbfs mounts at times
where connectivity may be lost (e.g. Win share becomes
unavailable) causing local processes such as lsof or

assert in journal.c at line 1730
Hello,
We are seeing this assert once in a while
on kernel 2.4.17. The problem seems to go
away with fsck version 1.27 but doesnt go
away with fsck version 1.22
I'd like to know if there's a known patch to
fix the issue (it seems that the buffer head
doesnt seem to have the bit for journalling
enabled and thats why it asserts there)
Under what conditions could this happen ?

winbind+samba3.0 pdc on the same machine
Hi all,
I am trying to install samba 3.0 pdc alongwith winbind
on the same machine, the objective is to allow Squid
to use ntlm_auth for samba users existing on the same
machine.
If I move squid to another machine, join this machine
to samba3.0 domain and then use wbinfo, everything
works fine. But when I install squid on the same
machine as samba and then try to use wbinfo it fails.
I get the

Samba 2.2.4 Printing Not Liking WinXP
I have Samba 2.2.4 installed on Redhat 7.3. I was
trying to set up printers through it and everything
works great on from a Windows 2000 Professional
Client, but a Windows XP Client dies a miserable death
when trying to view the properties of a printer. On
the Windows XP Client side, I get:
Properties clould not be displayed, procedure could
not be finished
On the Redhat 7.3 side, I'm seeing:

Accurate seeking in a streamed file?
Hi,
Is it possible to accurately seek to a certain
position in an OGG file that is streamed off the
hard-drive/CD?
Or alternatively, is there a way to put a marker
somewhere in the OGG and seek to that?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Cheers,
J

memdisk issues with 3com cards
I'm using pxelinux in an interesting way, to load DOS boot disk images from a
win2k RIS (Remote installation Service) to do various functions. Soem of the
disk images are used for flashing the BIOS on pcs, but a specific few are set
aside for booting MSDOS with MS lanman so that ghost can be run to load images
to/from the lan. I've got 6 different disk images setup and the all work

how to overlay the histogram with fitted gamma density plot (emergent!!)
For a real data column X value ranged between (56.4521,32317.9) with missing values, I need to overlay 2 plots: histogram & fitted gamma density.
I use following to generate histogram.
xbk_seq(50,33000,by=100)
hist(x,breaks=xbk)
But I don't know how to get "fitted gamma density"?
In SAS proc capability, I got Shape=2.59, Scale=3481).
But when I do
plot(dgamma(x,

[Flac-users] osx 1.0.4
on this topic...
i configured and built 1.0.4 in osx 10.2. seemed to build fine, but each
time i attemped to use the newly compiled flac binary I received this error
"bus error"
i nabbed the binaries for 1.0.3 and, each time i use flac to compress
something in tests, i receive this error when it is done compressing a file:

[Flac-users] New to the list
Hello all, I'm new to the list.
I have been using flac to archive my entire CD collection. I think this
will take approx. 80 GB (hopefully - that's all the space I've got for
now).
Anyway, I've been making my own tags with MetaFlac since I didn't find
any default ones (for Artist, Album, Track Title, etc.) I've been
putting them in Vorbis Comments which seems to be
