[Flac-users] BIG Problem!!! Help please!
Yeow! I have many files that have become unplayable. They are almost (but not always) the files of an entire CD. The error I get is FLAC_STREAM_DECODER_ERROR_LOST_SYNC. They played until recently using WinAmp and PhatNoise. They will not decode, returning a 0 error. I recently re-installed Windoze (XP Pro) if this might be a cause, but many of the files I had before the reinstall still do play.

What's ReplayGain effect on a decompressed file (Flac to Wav)
I backed up my entire CD collection to Flac (350+) to avoid losing them to scratches, laser burns, etc. Now I'm wondering how RG affects the Wav file produced from Flac decompresion if I used the following command with CDex: -8 -V -T artist="%a" -T album="%b" -T title="%t" -T date="%y" -T tracknumber="%tn" -T genre="%g" --replay-gain

[Flac-users] viewing the fingerprint?
An enthusiastic FLAC user on another list to which I subscribe said that FLAC has a function to display on screen the stored fingerprint that a FLAC file has of its source WAV. That sounds wonderful, because it allows a user to see whether two differing FLAC files might come from the same WAV but have been compressed with different sets of options, and therefore they would decompress to identical

flac reports error unnecessarily
I'm embedding flac in a Samba VFS application. flac gets called to decompress files, which Samba serves up to the client as WAV files. Every time a Windows client browses a folder, it opens music files to read the header, and then it closes them without reading the entire file. I'm accessing flac via popen/pclose. Each time I close the pipe to flac 'prematurely' (i.e.

[Flac-users] Fingerprint Verification Problem
Hi, Amazing work you folks have been doing! I don't know if this is the proper place to talk about this, but this looks like the best place to start! I've been messing with the latest version of FLAC and as an end-user I have this problem. The verification process currently does not use the fingerprint file during verification. So, only the integrity of the FLAC file is checked.

[Flac-users] Embedding the decoder... Sample code?
So, I wrote the code to decompress a flac file using the C interface. Everything seems to work alright, except the sound doesn't play right... I have some questions about the write callback function... Assuming a 16 bit mono sound, how should I copy the buffer out into my own buffer? Right now I'm simply copying the FLAC__int32* into my own FLAC__int32*... Could this be an endian

[bug] --keep-foreign-metadata discards WAV cue markers
Hello, I noticed that option --keep-foreign-metadata discards WAV cue markers. Here is how to reproduce the bug: 1) Create a 24-bit 96khz in SoundForge8, add 20 seconds of silence, and add two markers with "m" key shortcut 2) Save it, compress it with "flac --keep-foreign-metadata testmarkers.wav" 3) Decompress it with "flac -d testmarkers.flac" 4) Open the

FLAC 0.6 released
I've released FLAC 0.6. The big improvements are: - encoding speed in default mode (-6) is at least 3x faster - a new "loose mid-side" adaptive algorithm should help -1 and -5 modes - a new analyze mode for developers - a autoconf/libtool-based build system (thanks to Matt Zimmerman) - bug fixes related to pipes Check the new comparison page. FLAC has the best ratios of any open

wav to flac corruption
I have exactly the same problem. I encoded a BWF file to flac and then then decoded back to wav, using --keep-foreign-metadata, and I ended up with a bit-perfect copy of the original BWF. So I was fairly confident that the flac encoding is working correctly, the problem definitely appears to be with the flac players. Unfortunately it seems that the majority of flac players cannot play 24bit

FLAC to mp3 batch converter?
I'm just wondering if someone wrote a perl script to convert a directory with flac files into mp3 and preserving the id3 tag from flac to mp3? I have two harddrives where I keep my favorite CDs in flac and others in mp3 but when I get tired of them, I move them into mp3 and rather than popping the original CD in, it might be easier to just convert from flac to mp3 directly. Please cc me on

Parallel assignments and goto
No clue, but see ?assign perhaps if you have not done so already. -- Bert Bert Gunter "The trouble with having an open mind is that people keep coming along and sticking things into it." -- Opus (aka Berkeley Breathed in his "Bloom County" comic strip ) On Tue, Feb 27, 2018 at 6:51 AM, Thomas Mailund <thomas.mailund at gmail.com> wrote: > Interestingly, the

Parallel assignments and goto
Interestingly, the <<- operator is also a lot faster than using a namespace explicitly, and only slightly slower than using <- with local variables, see below. But, surely, both must at some point insert values in a given environment ? either the local one, for <-, or an enclosing one, for <<- ? so I guess I am asking if there is a more low-level assignment operation I can get my

Parallel assignments and goto
Following up on this attempt of implementing the tail-recursion optimisation ? now that I?ve finally had the chance to look at it again ? I find that non-local return implemented with callCC doesn?t actually incur much overhead once I do it more sensibly. I haven?t found a good way to handle parallel assignments that isn?t vastly slower than simply introducing extra variables, so I am going with

feature request
Dear FLAC developers, Thank you for your time and effort for creating such a great lossless compressor and make it freely available to the general public. I have a small feature request, which will make the life much easier for people like me who are converting from APE + CUE sheet to flac. The feature that I'm requesting is: Splitting flac files either according to CUE sheet or even

[LLVMdev] specifying accumulator based load/stores
I have load / store instructions that require accumulator. So a store looks like.. mov 3, acc st acc, addr I have specified "acc" as a separate register class containing only one register which is the "acc". The instr patterns are then splitted into: set imm:$src, ACCClass:$dst (generating the "mov" above) set ACCClass:$src, mem:$dst (generating the
